Boone to see heart specialist

First Boone: Sometime during practice, he felt his heart racing. Palpitations? Arrhythmia? The team didn't say. Too early to tell, perhaps.

But the third-year center was sent off to the doctor, and he'll see a specialist sometime in the next few days. But for precautionary reasons, he's not going to be practicing before Monday.

Yikes, hope everything is okay.

Do you know something? I'm trying to remember if Boone complained before about migraines. Seems like he did.

I'm always worried when "heart" and "basketball player" are linked. It rarely ends well. But I'm grateful this was caught before something truly tragic transpired.

Eddie Curry had heart problems, could not get insurance, and Paxson offered him $400K/year for life (basically) to retire. Instead, he's gone on to play for the Knicks without any complications that I've heard about. The guy's fat and doesn't work hard and all that, but no heart problems.

Here's hoping there's nothing to Boone's problem beyond being dehydrated.

I don't feel like making another thread to talk about Swift, but the news about him today was not pretty either. If his fall was bad enough that it "cast a pall" over the entire practice, it must have been bad. I didn't think he was going to play much, so it doesn't hurt from that perspective. But I feel bad for him . . . and for the Nets, who now have no chance of trading him until he comes back from this injury.

Dumpy, we're already over your quota of "two of them will always be injured". So we don't have room for anyone to just suck.
