Add the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks to the list of suitors possibly interested in the services of Jazz forward Carlos Boozer.

In addition to reporting that Boozer was a late scratch and won't be involved with the NBA's Basketball Without Borders in South Africa as scheduled, the Deseret News today reported the Mavericks could pick up their pursuit of the Jazz power forward. Nothing, however, has been put in motion yet.

In the report, Boozer was also mentioned as a possible sign-and-trade target for the Knicks' David Lee.

I'd rather get something of lasting value for Lee like a pick, a young player, or salary cap space.

What's a one-year rental of Boozer going to do for us?

You answered your own question. Maybe the Knicks could beg for their 1st round pick back from the Jazz too?

It would be ironic if Boozer/LeBron reunited in New York next season.

But we're not shedding any salary unless the Jazz take on Curry and/or Jeffries, which they probably won't.

If we sign Lee this season he's only getting a one-year deal. So we would be trading away a one-year player for a one-year player.
