Boston Celtics Dame Trade ideas and rumors

Well that will finally kill the Dame for Brown 3 team trade ideas.

I keep hearing how Ben Simmons and DeAndre are on such massive overpaid contracts. Josh Hart was going to be massively overpaid. Sometimes even Ant is mentioned as way overpaid.

Simmons is an expiring next year - DeAndre is ~30 something million for one year longer. Ant only makes $25 million. Hart picked up a $12 million option.

When Brown makes $300 million and guys like Dillon Brooks make $100 million, LaMelo Ball is making $250 million those other contracts start looking much better.

So if his contract averages $60.8 million per season - I'd think the first seasons are closer to $50 million. That means the last seasons will be around $70 million?

Yeah its hard not to wonder if a player like Scoot/Sharpe on a rookie contract is way more valuable. Even when he is eligible for an extension it'll be a much lower amount. Then there's the 2nd apron limits on the horizon.

I wonder if we are going to get to a point where All-NBA players aren't the most valuable players on a team any longer? Maybe it'll be fine to have one of those guys, but we might get to where it makes more sense to not have a 2nd or 3rd max player on the roster. Instead fill the roster with a depth chart of ~8 solid rotational players with only a single star.

For a few decades the blueprint to contend was always 2-3 stars and whatever role players or even vet minimums can fit around them. Not sure that is going to best the best blueprint in the years ahead.

If the raises are stil 8% (I don't know, I haven't perused the new CBA at all), then it would be 52.4/56.6/60.8/65/69.2.

Going to be really interesting to see if this gets worked out.... because from what I have heard from various reporters, it's extremely odd that he hasn't signed his deal yet.

Lmao, he just signed the biggest NBA contract

Capitalism at its best.
If the networkes and league ownership wasn't making billions from people like us fan's, that propel the golden goose, players wouldn't do so well.
Im cool with it as long as a percentage of it is given back to those in need.

Doee this make KATs contract more palatable?

IF KAT is healthy - he's a significantly better player.

He's better, but foundationally more flawed. I don't love the idea of a center as soft as him. He's also paid much more and older by 3 years.

Ayton is and will always be better defensively.

I'd take Ayton at his price over KAT for a rebuilding team.

Don't look up what CEOs are making across the country. You'll lose your lunch and dinner.
No doubt haha. Just have always felt it was ridiculous how much athletes make. Know that sounds hypocritical to the point that I as a fan I like to watch said athletes in their sport haha, but still.

They're the product. Frankly -- when compared to ownership -- I think they deserve more of the pie than they're getting...

I'd rather them get the money than the fat cats who don't do shit and just collect the interest sitting in their accounts as they dodge taxes.

Players are actually working for it.

Ain't that the truth. Biggest profits across the board. CEO's play sports too. It's called price gouging.
At least athletes, musicians, and actors entertain us. I can't think of too many CEO's doing a damn thing to make our lives better. You don't have to watch sports. You do have to use transportation, get medicine, buy food, and pay for housing.

Did you see old man Brown, Owner of the Bengals, talking about players like their farm animals.

It’s interesting because this might be part of the reason for the parity era. Its so hard to get 3 stars. It will be interesting to see how Phoenix does next year as they are one of the few teams with three legit star level players.

As would I. But think he's harder to get than KAT.

Listening to the local talker here today. Suns were the subject and eventually Ayton. They were discussing how Ayton was besties with Bridges and Cam Johnson and now he feels like he is alone and on an island here now. They were the young guys, now he doesn't have that. The talk has been the Suns want to trade him, but want that contract broken up into a couple useful pieces. Besides Nurk, I don't know what else could be moved to make the money add up. Maybe if part of a Dame trade.

Clearly, Ayton needs to be sent to Brooklyn to reunite with his buddies.

Man, it's really hard to salary-balance a 4-team Dame->MIA, Ayton->BRK deal, let alone get the asset value even close.

I just don't know if those are valuable FRPs. I think the team needs them before 2027-2030. That is just not acceptable imho. 4 years to see a reward from the trade isnt good.

Pretty good effort, I’d say. It would come down to how the individual clubs rate the big men in this trade scenario.

Unfortunately the Nets would not take Ayton in trade prior to him signing the Pacers offer sheet last off season. But at that time the Suns were unwilling to include Bridges in the deal. Once the new owner took over he coughed up Bridges for Durant, but could not include Ayton because he could not be traded for a year. Now, who knows. Maybe they would take him now.

Impressive work. I actually love those FRP’s as Durant will have moved on or be in decline. I also love getting Claxton and taking a flier on Simmons. Not sure about Martin would rather get a pick but we could possibly trade him onward for one.
