OT Boycotting the NFL

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

What are you actually mad at? I've heard some in here say some of this same crap...

What if you aren't boycotting but haven't watched it much in several years because it isn't very interesting and the game seems boring these days?

Brilliant video.

I hate the protests. I wish they would all stand on the line. I with there was another way to get through to people.

HOWEVER, these players are getting America to talk about a serious issue of black men getting shot and killed simply because THEY ARE BLACK. HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE TO ANYONE? The fact that these young men are doing EXACTLY what great Americans have done for centuries to help right wrongs should be applauded, not questioned.

Our brave men and women have fought for their right to PEACEFULLY protest.

It's pathetically slow, but because of their actions, change is happening.

It's been said by almost everyone protesting that it's not about disrespect.

My kids school had a teacher who was abusive to a student. The school suspended him WITH PAY for a month. He came back and my son, taking a page from players, turned his desk around in his class. He got in trouble, but a few weeks later, kids started doing it in all their classes. This led to the teacher "resigning"

My son or the other students weren't being disrespectful to the other teachers, they were peacefully protesting a wrong, and eventually, it was righted

I'm drunk and rambling, but that's my 2....er 3 cents

Hopefully change will happen quicker, but until then, kudos to the players trying to make a difference

Please get drunk more often. Well written.

It sucks but I am this season. Right after my Eagles FINALLY win the Superbowl.
But if you can't even try to understand Beto O'Rourke's answer here it's gonna be hard to even have a discussion about this with me.

Future President of the United State right there.

Was a 49ers fan throughout Montana's career, watched him at KC, quit watching football when he retired.

Every ten or so years I watch part of a game by circumstance, and it's noticeably less interesting each decade to watch.

I am honestly surprised it's still a profitable business.

I rather felt sorry for the kid. He could be learning history or math, instead he is learning to create a useless scene.

What the fuck do you stand for? What would you protest?

For what would you assemble peaceably, to petition the Government for a redress of grievances?

You claim to be a constitutionalist...

What would you protest?

Perhaps I could join in on some changes that might be good for the country. But I see nothing good in creating a scene designed to piss off other people that might even be willing to help, if you had not piss them off instead. Disrespecting the Flag intended to be a unifying symbol for all of us will always be wrong for many.

I can recall several times, I saluted that ensign, requested permission to come aboard, feeling so good and very fortunate to be able to do it one more time. It disgusts me to see other disrespect the same ensign and associated traditions. I have not watched football where this is done, the game is no where good enough to endure the insults. Any cause is totally hidden by the insult.

So.....you’d rather piss people off by doing nothing than be personally pissed off by people doing something? Interesting world view........

...TV viewership has been going down for a long time now and it started well before players started taking a knee for the national anthem. But IMO part of the NFL's woes are self-inflicted and in addition to the NFL's PR problems, for me, being a Raiders fan is not as it once was.

..oh, I still watch the games but over the last 30 years or so, through the many rule changes, I have witnessed the gradual "pussification" of the game...it's just not the same.

Yes, vastly preferable. Especial being one of those targeted to piss off. How this will effect any change is very obscure beyond pissing people off.

...are you saying that you feel you are being picked on?

No. I just think the intent is to piss people off. They succeeded in that and nothing else.

I just don't see it that way. If you already know in advance what the likely scenario will be why would you willfully subject yourself to it?

...just saying.

Just saying? I see no point, in your post or pissing people of in some objectionable demonstration.

Why don't you believe in the 1st amendment? You are so full of shit all the time. Maybe you just think black people don't deserve access to that right...

...lol...well, I'm not surprised that you can't see "the point of my post"...I can also understand why you refused to answer a simple answer to the simple question I posed.
