I've known Blazers_Mullet or whatever his stupid name is for, as he says, about three decades. I recently introduced him to this site.
Is it POSSIBLE that he was posting for several years as MIXUM, never once mentioning anything to me in spite of my near-constant presence in the community? Sure.
Given that, is it POSSIBLE he created other accounts to communicate with MIXUM on his own? I guess so.
Then is it POSSIBLE that he acted ignorant about the board's existence and created a new account that he let me know is him? Uh, yeah.
But why would I think that a guy I've known for 30 years--a good guy, a family man, someone who I know has loved the Blazers forever--be doing this, when the simple answer is that there is more than one poster?
This goes to the basic reason that I have defended MIXUM for so long: people think they know, but they often don't. It's easy to jump to conclusions and those conclusions simply are often incorrect, especially when we're all working from limited information like someone's posting style. We know nothing about most people here, including their level of technical aptitude, their level of education, and their overall ability to communicate.
Some people are assholes in real life. Some people are grumpy online. Some people can barely type because they're almost blind and have arthritis.
Judging the POSTER is a bad idea when there is so much to criticize about any given post.
