About 10 years ago. It sounds like he was a professional athlete in good health, with undiagnosed heart disease. She's telling her story in hopes that others might get checked out if something seems wrong.
Good on her for using her tragedy in an effort to do some real good.

It's a long video, but if you ever get the chance to watch it, she does a really good job. You can tell how hard it is for her to talk about, but Lamar does the interview and he is so good and calm, and professional. He did a great job of letting her talk through it, not interrupting her. It's a very well spent half an hour IMO.

I agree 100%. All of you should watch it, every Trail Blazer fan should watch it.

I love Brooke! Of course I don't know her, but as a sideline reporter and just following her on social media, I get the impression that she is a truly genuine person. I can't help but wonder if her life experience has shaped that genuineness. I can tell she's loved by players and staff, and the way she takes some of the youngsters like Amara under her wing is commendable. I hope she's a Blazer for life.

Lamarcus Aldridge has had some scares.
In the first minute of this video, he describes how he almost (or did) blacked out near the end of his rookie season.

She's done this story and lobbied for the American Heart Association for a long time. As a heart failure survivor, it's a commendable cause! Good to find out when you're young if you have a bum ticker like me. Soon to be 72 I want another 30 years and thanks to modern medicine I think I can make it! Brooke has raised a lot of money for the cause over many years. I remember Brian Wheeler promoting hear drive back in the day. Hope her blood clots clear up and she can travel again!

Just one of those genuinely nice and wonderful people. From a lot of people as much positivity as Brooke has would come off a little pollyanna but not from Brooke. She really pulls it off. I hope she gets well really soon. The broadcasts aren't as good without her.
