Wow it had been a while since a Blazer was arrested. (Dante doesn't count, and his charges were dropped anyway).

Was the ZBo the most recent?

Police officials say officers pulled over Camby’s black Porsche around midnight...charged with possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone

This bullshit about marijuana possession being worse if you're driving within a certain distance of a school...there are probably a thousand schools in Houston...and he was busted at midnight. Is that when children walk home from school?

I can't believe this. School zone bullshit is bad enough, but the asinine legal system enforces it at midnight?

Hey, legal system fascists! Stop fighting the American culture and legalize what Americans want to do!

mar Cus cam Beee!

Clap Clap clapclapclap!

So what if some Americans want to rape your mom, wife, sister or daughter......Should that be ok?

Looks a bit like Marcus in on the Ray Felton Offseason Plan.

I call bullshit on your premise.

Cartels have been around for decades, and do more than just provide a service where recreational marijuana is sold to peace-loving individuals just looking for a way to relax. The cartels are not "empowered" by law enforcement. Our "boarders" have been the scene of illegal activity since before the Mexican-American War, and violence generally ramps up when good folks attempt to do the right thing and uphold the laws of our country. Whether illegal immigration or drug possession or distribution or theft or murder, the "civil war" that's being fought is between criminals who don't care about more than making a buck vs. those who are charged with protecting society from that evil.

Keeping Pot Illegal empowers Drug Cartels to continue to fight in a civil war that is spilling over into our boarders and killing thousands, Asinine indeed.

not to mention keeping the privatized prisons full of non violent offenders to keep cranking out "made in the usa" garbage for walmart for a buck a day

So what if some Americans want to rape your mom, wife, sister or daughter......Should that be ok?

I really don't think that's a fair argument. Alcohol causes more impairment than pot and it's legal. I think the US needs to get a clue and stop this nonsense of filling up prisons with people who just want to sit on the couch and eat Cheetos. Aim at controlling the meth, cocaine, ecstasy, even prescription medication that actually kills people when it's abused!

so you're ok with prosecuting meth, cocaine, ecstasy, and prescription medication abusers and throwing them in prison, but that illegal marijuana abusers should be left alone?

I call bullshit on your premise.

That's Fine, but the numbers don't lie.

Marijuana accounts for anywhere between 50% to 65% of Mexican cartel revenues, say Mexican and U.S. officials.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=126978142

Mexico, the world's largest exporter of marijuana, sends almost all of its crops to the U.S.... analysts say marijuana may be the cartels' greatest source of cash in part because the Mexican gangs control the production, trafficking and distribution of the drug.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/06/AR2009100603847.html

More than 60 percent of the cartels' revenue -- $8.6 billion out of $13.8 billion in 2006 -- came from U.S. marijuana sales, according to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Damn, out of the entire roster, Camby was the one I'd think would have been least likely to be busted.

Bring back the Jail Blazers!! This team is out of control!!

so you're ok with prosecuting meth, cocaine, ecstasy, and prescription medication abusers and throwing them in prison, but that illegal marijuana abusers should be left alone?

at very least, yes that would be a good start, why wouldnt it be? we have had this conversation before, and it boils down to you as "its illegal, so thats why its illegal"

so you're ok with prosecuting meth, cocaine, ecstasy, and prescription medication abusers and throwing them in prison, but that illegal marijuana abusers should be left alone?

I was thinking more along the lines of the dealers but these drugs (and alcohol) can lead to hallucinations and violence and if the abusers are dangerous to other people in society because of it... yes. Marijuana doesn't cause hallucinations or make people violent.

Overdose deaths from prescription opiates out numbers overdose deaths from heroine, cocaine, and ecstasy combined. At this point prescription opiate overdose deaths now out number deaths resulting from MVAs in the US. It's a humongous problem and we've started to see instances where doctors are being charged with murder because of it. There has never been one case of someone dying from an overdose of THC.

I'm not condoning the use of any drug, legal or illegal, but I am able to use logic here and it tells me that there are clear priorities when it comes to the "War on Drugs". The economy sucks, the government is running out of money and has a set amount of resources. I think these resources should be prioritized by the harm they cause to the users and to society.

We've spent a Trillion dollars on the War on Drugs. Does anyone here believe that it is any more difficult to get drugs today than it was before the War on Drugs? I thought not. Does anyone think the WOD has done ANYTHING to stop drug use? I sure don't.

Weed could be controlled and taxed like alcohol. The gangs would get cut out of the business, and the government would make a lot of money. I guess that is a crappy outcome. It's not like the government needs to find ways to cut costs.

Instead, let's continue the war on drugs and keep throwing bales of good money after bad, and not make a damned bit of difference in the drug trade or to drug use. Yay!

Go Blazers

If drug X is not physically addictive

and

If drug X does not cause physical harm or death to the users

and

If people on drug X and not prone to increased violence

Then Drug X should be legalized.

Cool, so you agree then that idrug X should be illegal because drug X impares people

yes nyquill should be illegal lol

Don't forget Benadryl! That stuff knocks you out.

I have to admit I've used it in the past to help me sleep when I didn't even have a stuffy nose... but I can quit anytime I want. :devilwink:

its a slippery slope, soon you will be selling sexual favors for a tylenol pm

I'm willing to bet a lot of players are taking part in smoking the cheeba because of the lockout.

because he's a wily veteran? Personally it didn't surprise me one bit, considering his 25 acre Texas property is almost half lake. Sounds like the perfect place to do whatever you want.

NBA players smoke pot. This isn't new. I know a dude who used to hook Dale Davis up with ounces. I always wondered why Dale Davis pump faked so much, its cause he was high as a kite.

That is true of acid too.
