Question for the cap gurus out there.

I know we would have to renounce all other unrestricted free agents not named LaMarcus but what else could be done to have additional MAX money room?

If Afflalo opted out and we were able to package Batum for a draft pick, would that give us enough room?

Maybe a better question: Are there enough free agents out there worth MAX money?

Obviously there's an amazing restricted free agent class, but no one really expects guys like Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler not to be matched by their respective teams. And other MAX candidates such as Kevin Love and Greg Monroe play the same position as LA.

Let's just worry about signing LMA let alone anybody else. The sports nation appearance by Wes being any sign we might not even retain our own keys guys..

No, they would all have to agree to take less money similar to what Lebron, Wade and Bosh did in Miami.

If it means getting Lebron I'm sure LMA would agree to take less than max, but that would most likely be the only player he would agree to do that for.

Dude, did you even watch the sports nation clip? It's not what it's being made out to be.

Next off season might be a more interesting play. If lillard takes the next step we could legitimately have 2 All-NBA guys already, adding a 3rd (and 4th?) could be easier than we think. A player like Durant would have to at least consider joining Lillard and Aldridge at that point, especially if someone like Noah or Horford are along for the ride.

Let's just let Neil run the show. He says he has a plan no matter what happens.

Umm, do we have any other choice?

They should probably offer him a spot regardless. He is a very good assistant. Just a mediocre head coach.

They both look so young:

LA either wants to be here or he doesn't. Bringing Monty in isn't going to change that. The only reason why you add him to your staff is if his philosophy is in line with Terry's and helps with what Terry is trying to do. Otherwise, I don't think you just add him.

What's interesting to me is Paul gave this General Manager a raise and promotion three months ago. Do you think he would have done that if there were signs this was all about to fall apart?

Al Jefferson is now 30 years old...is there any chance that Portland could trade Kaman's contract and sign Jefferson to a 4 years/$45mill to play 30ish minutes off the bench??? With a combined 96 minutes at pf/c, if

Aldridge comes back and plays 33-35 mins at pf, Leonard plays 10-15 mins at pf and 5 at c, Jefferson playing 27-30 mins at C, and a starting c that plays defense playing 20ish mins, and re-signing Freeland to play occasionally when someone is hurt

That would be a strong frontcourt rotation. I think that any cheap starting c that can play defense and not demand touches can thrive next to Aldridge. Plus with Leonard and Jefferson playing, Jefferson will do most of the scoring with McCollum in the 2nd unit and Leonard can worry about taking open 3s. I would rather not re-sign Lopez if he commands more than $10mill and go after Jefferson and go after someone like Seraphin or Pachulia to start.

Lots of propaganda in the air. More than like its a side leveraging bargaining power.
Every smidgeon of it can be traced directly back to Quick's bullshit quote.

I'm flabbergasted at how thoroughly he has owned so many posters, not to mention the media types...
