ofc its only 20 fuckin' games, but can you see Jusuf Nurkic as Portland Trail Blazers legend and his jersey retirement some day, and what would it take to make that happen.. it looks to me that POR and Jusuf Nurkic are destined for each other, his passion and love for this franchise and its fans and vice versa, seems very real

You shouldn't retire someone's jersey unless they lead you to a title IMO. I loved Clyde and Porter, but they shouldn't have had their numbers retired. I think it was Blazer brass desparate to manufacture some positive vibes at the time.

The longer we go without making the finals twice in three years, the more okay I am with retiring their numbers.

So most teams would not have a single Jersey retired or past players, to show the city loved what they gave them, even if it wasn't a ring? That's ridiculous....

I am happy to look up and see Porter and Drexler up there. I was here during those times and have mad respect for what they did for this city. only one team can win each year. You do know this right? ;)

It'll be about longevity more than about talent. Can he string together 3, 4, or 5 healthy seasons? Can he help the Blazers win a championship? These are tall orders, but it's possible.

I could see Nurkic averaging
18ppg, 12reb, 4ast, 2blks and 1stl someday. That would be amazing numbers. He'd be an all-star with that statline.

Thing is, with us this season, he averaged:
15.2ppg, 10.4reb, 3.2ast, 1.9blk, & 1.3stls in 29min.

He's not that far off.

If the Blazers keep letting him play when he's hurt then I don't think so.

I see everything is rose-garden committed glasses, so I can absolutely see it.

And regarding the "banner in the rafters" talk, recall that we have conference championship banners up there at the moment. If he can get us to the finals--lie Clyde and Terry did--that'd be good enough for me.

I can imagine Nurkic being one of the franchise's memorable stars. I can also imagine Nurkic settling in as a good but not great player. I'm not really sure where I'd place my bets at the moment--probably on the latter, because I'm a cold, unfeeling realist and the odds are generally against greatness (outside of true phenoms, like LeBron James).

Yes. Jusuf will be one of the select few for the Blazers. Listen to what he says in the interview. He has the right mix of confidence and determination that fits what team leader Dame is building into NBA championship contention. Let's continue to provide encouragement to Nurkic and all the Blazers to bring out their best performance.

I know you take a lot of shit from people in here but you are a great addition!

It's nice to have you here!

Keep posting!

I CAN SEE NURKIC CUCK'ING OUR FRANCHISE FOR A BIGGER MARKET

He made me forget this shitty season for about about a month. If that isn't a legend I don't know what the hell is!

I seen him as an adequate backup who will be sporadically injured.
