I agree except for the part about the biggest fans will be the most upset. The ability for people to regulate their emotions is unrelated to their level of fandom, in my opinion.

If people want to be really angry, that's fine. If people are bummed, but don't show it through yelling, cursing, overreacting, etc. their fandom isn't discounted either.
It takes a serious emotional investment to be really upset over what the team does. Usually those with a serious emotional investment are big fans, is my point. I'm not saying you have to cuss or yell to be a fan...

I think fans will move on and forget most of this as soon as there's a 4 game winning streak with the new guys...CJ was a painless transition for me..my bottom line is I don't want anybody in a Blazer uniform that doesn't want to be here. Period.

The team got pennies on the dollar back for Covington and Powell because of the tax. They prioritized finances over assets with that trade, and she has not once paid the tax. The team specifically avoided any contracts that weren't expiring at last years trade deadline, and they traded Hart out because they didn't want to pay him (he opted in and didn't even get that payday people said he would). Why would they just let him walk for nothing? She didn't hire the right people in part because there wasn't even an interview process for the new general manager and they hired a yes-man who wasn't ready and didn't have the experience to try and take on the challenge that the team was in.

All fair criticisms. Thank you for taking the time.

Shes also (finally) given Joe resources he's asking for. She's paying for a G League team. She's added roles and staff to the front office to strengthen the scouting department.

She's not a natural to the process like Paul was, but she's been at every draft and attends the vast majority of games even through tanking. So she seems engaged to me.

Like I said, She's been imperfect but improving. I don't think she's as bad as some would have you believe.

I'd say the hiring of Schmitz looks to have been a VERY shrewd move. The last two drafts seem to have been very effective. She just bought the G-League team. They're talking about arena renovations. I too am hopefully we can hurry this up and get the team turned over to Phil Knight, but I don't for a minute believe our on-court product has been diminished by Jody Allen. Paul died in 2018 - our roster problems had mostly been baked in by then (thanks to the GM he hired).

I also believe that many of the decisions were dictated by Paul with the knowledge he knew his days were getting short and did not want his final days to be watching a rebuild. Holding on to LA and spending like there was no tomorrow (because in his case there really wasn't) the offseason we extended everyone/signing Turner support this theory. Of course Olshey made plenty of mistakes and was a giant ass, but IMO not all of it was his doing.

The Blazers haven't had an "identity" in years....it's been a constant roster shuffle to see what sticks. The last real identity was Aldridge, Lopez, Batum Mathews and Lillard....after that it's been tag team roster composition.
