He had knee surgery again?

I would love to have him on the team. Not counting on anything from Oden at this point. Not crazy about Crash playing the 4 and staying healthy. Landry also gets to the free throw line alot in the fourth quarter.

The CBA could prohibit us if we get a hard cap. Would think NO would want to keep West over Landry. Could possibly get CL here via a three way sign and trade with Camby going to the third team, assets going back to NO, and Landry here.

Yes Landry would be a very nice addition, I wouldn't want to pay him more than the MLE though.

I would consider a deal with Camby if we don't have the ability to sign Landry in the next CBA. Depending on the next CBA we may be able to sign Landry outright if there is a similar soft cap or not be in a position to offer him anything if an eventual hard cap will be implemented. With a hard cap we may need all the money for Crash/Oden/Batum or a starter level free agent.

Interesting question. Batum is due an extension soon. Are we better off signing him or using those resources for Landry? I would have loved to have Landry over Nic for the Dallas series.

Nice that a decent player like him considers the Blazers to be a favorable destination. Especially considering he knows he'd never get starters minutes at his natural position.

This is a guy who started throughout the playoffs and over 1/3 of games played last year. It's not really typical that a guy so young (28) talks so eagerly about coming to a team where he'd clearly be a bench player.

He could have a similar role on a team like Miami, Dallas, OKC, Boston.... Better weather (except Boston), chance at a championship, bigger superstars....and he's bringing up Portland?

Nice to hear.

Oops, for some reason I had him and David West mixed up.

down low presence? toughness? hogwash. what we really need is another undersized combo guard
That and more three point shooting Power Forwards.

I would love to get Landry.

I noticed that he didn't say he'd also be willing to be paid like a bench player. :)

“That’s big of him to speak out and I’m glad he spoke out and said he wants to play with us,” Aldridge told SLAMonline. “He’s a good player and I definitely feel like he can help us immediately.”

As the new face of the franchise, Aldridge finds himself in unfamiliar territory. He’s now a player others look up to and want to play with. Seldom has an athlete voiced his desire publicly to play for the Blazers, and the emergence of Aldridge has a lot to do with that.

Whenever a new collective bargaining agreement is reached, it’s clear the Blazers’ future is in good hands. Portland has discovered a hidden gem as Aldridge has shown that he’s an All-Star player who’s exempt from the injury bug, and that he’s someone who will attract and recruit free agents to the Pacific Northwest.

Aldridge likes the idea of Landry
