<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Nets are Vince Carter’s team, Nets’ officials will tell you. A quote from him about commitment adorns the wall of the team’s video room, his jersey–along with Devin Harris’ and Yi Jianlian’s–are behind glass in the practice facility’s lobby. But he has never won anything other than an Olympic gold medal. That’s enough to place him at the top of Dime Magazine’s “Loser List”.</div>

The Loser List - Vince Carter - - Dime Magazine

Great article. So true. Definitely should be considered over players like Stephon Marbury, Tracy First Round McGrady, etc. Dime Magazine is definitely credible. Vince Carter sucks. Hate, hate, hate.

That was a horrible read. Like you said, T-Mac has had as many injuries, and has never gotten out of the first round. And Marbury is Marbury. Vince gets hated on so much.

For a supposed hate piece, it was rather nice to Vince (relatively speaking)

Good post Max. I've read both those articles before. The amount of hate VC gets is ridiculous.

Horrible read, Vc gets so much hatred it isn't funny.. I can't complain one bit because since he joined the Nets he has been top class.

Well, you don't like Vince, so you don't count.

Seriously though, people were on the VC bandwagon back the day, but people hate him now.

Not everyone has to be characterized as either loved or hated. There are a bunch of players that fall into that middle ground of insignificant. I'd say that's about where Carter is at this point in his career.

Please re-read the article. This is a list of "losers". Vince Carter is one of them, not no. 1 on the list.

Furthermore, Vince hasn't won a damn thing. The "hate" as some of you say is justified. But it really isn't even hate, its reality. Until Vince advances past the second round of the playoffs, and makes it to the Conference Finals or even the Finals, he is nothing but a good player that achieved nothing substantial in his career.

To the above poster: to say Vince is irrelevant is also misleading. If the Raptors had Vince Carter now, they would be a championship contender, not a pseudo-"contender" who will probably not make it out of the 1st round again.

He's a former all-star on a rebuilding team, coming off an injury. How isn't he insignificant? Taking shots at my team really won't change the fact that nobody cares about him and they'll continue to not care until he does something of note.

And would you argue that Tracy McGrady is insignificant? He also did not make an All-Star team last year. To call star players in the league insignificant, with worldwide fanbases no less (and take a look at this message board for evidence of that), is laughable at best. Especially when it comes from a Raptor fan and the star in question is Vince Carter.

The fact that someone went and wrote an article about him doesn't exactly make him seem insignificant.

To point to a player's/team's fanbase is pointless, because we're talking about the "haters." All I'm saying is that most people don't care enough about VC to bother hating on him at this point. He's even off Raptors fans' minds except for the four games we play the Nets, and trust me when I say that means something.

Don't worry, there are Nets fans that call him insignificant (in terms of the NBA as a whole) too

Big ****ing deal. Lots of people think he sucks

That video was awesome. I now officially love Raptor fans.

God, its a really simple point. All I'm saying is that complaining about VC haters is as stupid as me complaining about Andrea Bargnani haters. In reality, nobody outside both fanbases cares enough to bother "hating" on either player. Some people just need to accept that fact and understand that a negative opinion is exactly that: a negative opinion. Not somesort of worldwide agenda to slander your favourite player.

Now I think I'll step out of this thread and allow for a handful of "OMG a Raptors fan...." responses.

What a bunch of crock. I live in Toronto and I know first hand that that statement is not true. Moreoever, there is a much more popular Raptor message board out there, in which a Vince Carter thread shows up every 2 or 3 days a week (that lasts at minimum 7 or 8 pages). It's mindboggling how Torontonians cannot get over Carter.

And all those people chant to the top of their lungs drowning out studio announcers every time Carter is in town, right. It's a completely normal occurrence.
