Cavs Reportedly looking to get LaMarcus Aldrdige

kind of hard to target a guy who isn't a free agent.

Ya gotta read it to fully understand it. Though, it's not much of a read, unfortunately.

oh, I read it. I stand by what I said. And I'll add that a big reason why LaMarcus was rumored to have wanted to leave was that the team was under performing and not showing any growth for the future.

That statement was true of both of the players mentioned (Love and Aldridge) last summer.

It's only true of one of them now.

Ah. Got it. I thought you were just throwing it out there.

Minny is a dumpster fire, that's for sure. I kinda hope Love got to Cleveland. That'd be fantastically bad.

I would trade LMA for Lebron.

Oh wait, Cavs don't have Lebron?

Click.

Well if I remember correctly the Cavs where hot & heavy for him last year.

I'll tell you though, if the Caves land a top 3 pick add a guy like Thompson when you already have Robinson??? Makes it a bit tempting. This is a very strong draft.

Back around the first of the year, I would have agreed.

They have the assets that would most definitely appeal to the Blazers or Wolves if either team is scared of their star leaving for nothing.
Its more likely the wolves then us and something like Waiters/this years lottery pick and then the choice of Bennett or Thompson should be enough to get it done.
The cavs would be swinging for the fences because there is no garauntee Love or LMA would sign and extension especially if LBJ doesn't sign.

When is LeBron a free agent? I think it had to happen by now. Portland is on the way up with LA as it's man. Can't see them moving him now.

Wouldn't Lebron just as willingly come to Portland and play beside LMA, Lillard, Batum, Lopez and Matthews as he would return to Cleveland?

Even if we had to trade Batum a starting 5 of: Lillard + Matthews + James + LMA + Lopez is best in the league.

Although I'm not advocating it, if the Cavs got a top 2 pick and offered it for LaMarcus (under the guise they could get LeBron) I'd have to think long and hard about it.

Not saying I want to trade him, but dayam...

No one is untradeable on this team, IMO.

If we can get a top 3 draft pick for Aldridge; I think we should jump at the chance.

It brings in a top talent and, more importantly, moves our team away from being centered around a 'star' whose m.o. is jump shooting and weak defense.

Also, with Lillard inheriting the reigns, it shifts the team mental make-up/psyche away from being passive.

We'll never win squat as long as we are tethered to a Forward whose 'go to' move is a jump shot.

Get someone who can make a shot in the 4th quarter. A fraud all-star can't.

Players walking off the court right now.

Thank goodness Olshey would never make such a stupid trade.

His value is as a decoy, attracting double coverage based upon his false reputation as a clutch shooter who is capable of winning games.

We could trade him for a large wooden duck which quacks when a fish bites it, and we'd win close games for a change.

I've been saying this for years.

He's straight money when he's banging down low.... I have been saying more and more "God damnit LA, lucky that went in" when he takes a jumper... and when he misses... it's usually just one four letter word...

Tonight he missed almost all of his wide-open unguarded midrange shots. His bad attitude makes him refuse to play his natural position, Center. He's about 10% as effective at PF as he would be after a year of learning how to play C.

Explain yourself on this one. lol.

His stats at forward come from being much taller than his man. He's not as adroit or athletic as many forwards, but playing short guys gives him many little mental vacations from intensity during the game, so he prefers it.

Why would he try to unsuccessfully pry both stars out of their current cities?

Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick...

Grant tried for two years to unsuccessfully pry both stars out of their current cities, but each had too many years left on their contracts for their current teams to consider it.

Apparently he aspires to be unsuccessful. So far, he's been very successful at it. Kudos to him.

Say you get a top 3 pick with Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao. With that top 3 pick you take Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker. You have to at least consider it. With our luck we'd probably take Joel Embiid and he would go down though.

I don't think the Cavs are bad enough to get a top three.
