Fucking hilarious.
This is a writer from the same team that put an entire city on suicide watch when they "Lost Oden" in the ping pong ball spectacular.
Entire city? Yeah right. Nobody in Boston gave a shit about the Celtics until they traded for KG.

Obviously, there were a few diehards still around, but back then they probably had 1/4 of the local fanbase that they had the day after the KG trade, and 1/10 of the one they had after beating the Lakers in the finals. That poor, goateed dude with the backwards cap and his mouth agape did. That, or he's a heckuvan actor.

You all thought you were getting Oden. I thought for sure DA was going to go on a shooting spree.
So was that picture taken at his house?
Hell yeah, of course I wanted Oden. Put me in a time machine, give me the #1 pick, and I'm still picking Oden.
Don't blame me for the writer's stupidity.
Jesus Christ!
I'm not blaming you ffs! I was pointing out how stupid it was for anyone under the Celtics banner (or any banner for that matter) to now be putting down Portland for that pick.
I thought Bob Ryan was going to cry on ESPN every time he came on to talk about it.
Can't blame him. Rondo/Pierce/Jefferson/Oden would have been an extremely solid core.
And I'm glad we both agree that the writer is an idiot.
Please stop telling me not to blame people.
talk about over reacting. You always take a potential franchise center when he's available and 90% of the NBA fanbase thought Oden was that guy. He can still be that guy if he's healthy. Hell it's only his 2nd year in the league.
The Media has created this knee-jerk reaction to talent and this is an obscene instance of it happening on that site.
what a maroon.

I can't blame you for saying that.
Yep, Durant is a wonderful offensive player. However, I'm reminded of another draft--in 1956. Two players stood out from that draft--Elgin Baylor and Bill Russell. Elgin got all the individual awards, Bill got all the rings. Something tells me the Celts were cool with the way that draft turned out.
Greg Oden doesn't compare to Bill Russell. Bill averaged 14 ppg and 19 rpg in his rookie season. In his first playoff game, he grabbed 31 rebounds.
Time to masturbate to your laminated photo of Travis Outlaw. I'm glad you think the stats of a healthy rookie playing in 1956 who played four years in college is the same of a guy recovering from microfracture who played one year of college ball and who has to face 2009 competition.

Greg will probably never average 19 rpg no matter how many years it takes him to recover from the surgery.
