I find it appalling when a persons speech is censored, in this forum or other forums. Although it is necessary at times to enforce the support for other higher priority considerations, such as but not limited to public safety.

@SlyPokerDog walks this line quite well, in that he has published the defined rule of, no personal insults will be allowed. While I can find more than a little disagreement with what he defines or sees as a personal insult, his rule is understandable, and easy enough to restrict ones self and remain in compliance.

We now seem to be entering a new era, where the rules are not defined, perhaps there is no rule that can be expressed, other than the post did not please the moderator. I sure hope we do not have members that like to see censorship of post that do not please them. Failing to hit the "like" button is one thing, supporting undefined righteous censorship is quite a big step toward the intolerable.

The first rule of S2 is nobody talks about the rules of S2!

I didn't vote for him.....he'd like nothing more than to censor the media and public opinion...there's a new culture in America alright and our leadership leads by insult without regard to the truth. Campaigned by slander...governs by insult...is it any surprise that this country is more divided by opinion now than anytime ever? Without censorship anyone could without recourse could insult or bait someone without civility. To have the stock market tied to a twitter rant is something I'd never dream could occur in a democracy. Most divisive time in our national history since Nixon

Would banning you make you happier? I understand Sly will do it for $50. I'll start a gofundme page...

Very interesting!

Your response has nothing to do with why I made my post. But you got to say what you wanted. I do not agree with a damn thing you said, can't relate to it, nor do I know why you have developed the opinion. But I am glad you have a place to post it. I don't need to agree with it and I do not object. I might feel a little sorry for you but, that will pass, probably before I hit the post button.

I will use rules on boats to try to explain my thoughts.

Informing passengers of a few simple rules before leaving the dock works better than telling them while underway.

Example; Here are my 5 rules you must agree to before you board my boat, or, stay on the dock today.

I wish "enforcing" rules was as easy as making them. As weather and other conditions change, the level of enforcement may need to be adjusted. Sometimes emergency rules need to be temporarily enforced.

The S2 mods run the best forum I have visited. There is only one issue I disagree with on how it is handled. My guess is, they let an un-named poster run wild because they fear lawsuits. Which I also understand.

In short.
This is their boat, not yours.
Their rules, not yours..
Their discretion on what, how and when to enforce those rules, not yours.
Or, there is the dock.

no surprise here but Trump threatened to pull media credentials from major news outlets because they asked questions he wanted to avoid....meaning if you are against censorship....you probably disagree with the president about how he handles criticisms in general. Fortunately the govt isn't his sole property or forum.

To me Marz...it's what's great about the ignore function....you can choose to block out the bs anytime you want. It pleases me that I no longer have long drawn out arguments with a couple forum members after using it. For the record...I like your pictures of your boat too much to use it in your case. Denny and I had marathon arguments for years...

They ask me nicely to stop when I feel like being an asshole. I should say bigger asshole.

It would be better if they'd just admit what we all know to be true but they might get sued for that too, who knows?

Really? You feel as though you have been so wronged? There are few rules here. Basically no personel insults and that old unwritten one about having common decency. There is a great amount of autonomy on here. You are allowed for the most part to bestow upon us your antiquated opinions. The mods work their asses off editing posts that hurl personal insults and bait others into heated exchanges. As you deduced in your post, rules are not always black or white. Deal with it.

You can easily be an asshole without personally insulting others.

Really? @dviss1 isn't going to sue S2. For you, @MarAzul and @oldfisherman to even bring that up, just reeks of ignorance and closed mindedness.

Well I am please I could bring some joy to your life. I have learned though not to have unduely long arguments with you and a few other. No point in it. just like I can see no point in your
initial response to this thread. Nothing to argue about. Carry on.

I'm assuming the commone decency should have applied to the poster I assume we're talking about. Or maybe just starting now?

Deal with it

Yes, I already deduced you like censorship of posts you do not like. I had expected as much, but I thought you might want to clarify as I could be wrong. Not a very flattering characteristic
you have taken to support, but it is your option.

Oh it does apply to him. Like you and me, he also gets to voice his anger when its doesn't personally insult others. Like you and me, when he has done so, he has been told to stop. And he has stopped, until you guys bait him again. You have been told this over and over. I don't get what there is left to complain about.

I don't like censorship. I also don't like people hating on other people because the color of their skin.

Even so grow some balls and say it.

Oh Man I have said it straight out more than once. I never inferred any thing. You may infer incorrectly from what I intended to imply from time to time, that certainly is understandable.
But this in not one of those times. Not only do you miss use the word infer, I have never implied it either. The man is allowed to insult the hell out of people with impunity repeatedly.

In this thread @oldfisherman and @bodyman have tried to say it without saying. You applauded @olfisherman for doing so. Therefore you thought about it. Therefore you lied. Implied\infered, I don't give a good damn. At least finally you are saying it even it is infered. Still can't call @dviss1 out by name huh. He doesn't get away with anything. He expresses his anger like you, and if he uses personal insults his posts are edited and he is told not to. Sounds to me its a matter of you not being able to stand being upstaged by a black guy.

If I called you ignorant, would you consider it insulting? Actually I find sad as well as a little amusing that you call me ignorant based upon your in accurate inferring power.

Did I directly call you ignorant?
If the mods feel the need to edit it they can
