The Memphis Grizzlies like Eric Gordon and Kevin Love. But it is looking more and more likely that they will trade away their pick on draft night.

The New Jersey Nets and the Grizzlies are in talks about a trade that would send the No. 5 pick in the draft to New Jersey for the No. 10 pick and a future first-round pick from New Jersey.

With the No. 5 pick in the draft it appears that the Nets are looking at two guys who might not be on the board at No. 10 -- Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Love.

The Nets are big fans of both players and were hoping one of them would fall to 10. Gallinari gives the Nets a sharp shooter with great passing skills and good experience in Europe.

However, Love is more NBA ready. He's got great strength and skills, though some teams worry about his lack of size.

It's unclear what the Grizzlies are thinking at No. 10. They need a power forward and could look at LSU's Anthony Randolph there. They also could scoop up Gallinari at 10 if the Nets pass on him at No. 5 and the Knicks pass on him at No. 6.

However, the Nets aren't alone in their pursuit of the Grizzlies' pick. The Blazers have also been talking to the Grizzlies about a deal that would send the No. 5 pick to Portland. The Blazers have a number of assets, including Travis Outlaw, that they could throw the Grizzlies' way. The Blazers covet Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love.

The other team that seems to be hot for the Grizzlies pick is the Knicks. Earlier in the week they discussed a deal with the Grizzlies that would send David Lee and Malik Rose to the Grizzlies in return for the No. 5 pick and Brian Cardinal. However, Lee's agent may have scuttled that deal for the Knicks when he told Memphis that Lee, who becomes a restricted free agent next summer, has no interest in signing a long-term deal in Memphis. The Knicks were trying to pick up multiple lottery picks to jump-start the rebuilding process.

The Grizzlies aren't the only team talking of trading down. The Wolves and Sonics have also had talks with teams about the No. 3 and No. 4 picks. The Wolves are likely to select O.J. Mayo with the No. 3 pick, according to sources. However, with a number of teams coveting Mayo, they may move the pick if they can find the right deal -- especially one that could bring them back Kevin Love.

The Sonics have also spoken with the Clippers about a deal that would send No. 4 to Los Angeles in return for the No. 7 pick and a future first-rounder.

it's clear that all along the Nets wanted DG or Love. should be interesting.
only 6 hours to go

I could definitely see Gallinari dropping to the 10th spot in the draft but Love will probably be gone when you guys are up to draft so I dont now if this trade is necessary to grab the desired player.

Maybe it's the overload of research i've been doing on Love but I would be really happy with that pick. We'd have so many young players already on our roster that it wouldn't be a killer to forfeit a future first rounder if Thorn and Kiki thinks Love is the man, i'm sure Rod would protect the pick to a degree as well.

Danilo or Bayless at 5 bitches, I would hate this deal if they take Love.

I would Love to have Love on this team (LOLOMGSOFUNNY), but I'd rather hold on to another first round pick and take whomever drops to 10. While I'll be happy with Love, he's not the only person around that section I'd be happy with.

Although if this does remove the chance of drafting Robin Lopez....eh??

what a joke danilo will be there at 10 and i dont want love grizzlies want gordon i know it

so we pretty much giving away a future 1st round pick great

just wait danilo will be there at 10 knicks not taking him

from chad ford's chat which is going on right now

Chad Ford: (1:20 PM ET ) I think the likelihood is HIGH that they trade their pick. I just posted a story on ESPN.com about it. They are in talks with the Nets about a swap that would send No. 5 to NJ for the No. 10 pick and a future first rounder from NJ. They are also talking to the Blazers about a swap that would give them No. 13 and a player like Travis Outlaw. From what I can gather, the Knicks trade talk is dead after David Lee's agent basically told Memphis he wasn't interested in signing with them when he hits free agency next summer. And yes ... there's still a possibility they could get No. 2 from Miami. But from what I hear, it looks like it's a longshot.

That is how I feel. No disrespect to Love's game as maybe he's worth a top five pick but I wouldn't go overboard and pick him up just because we don't know what direction this teams heading in.

wuh....huh....oh...sorry, you guys just woke me up, I was watching a Kevin Love video and I fell asleep.
Seriously, Love is more than solid. You won't be disappointed, and he's a no-lose kind of pick. But I wonder: If Thorn meant what he said about
the Knicks taking DG at 6, this sounds as much like Rod is jumpin them to beat them to the punch to get DG.

I was thinking the same thing, either that, or they'd let the Knicks have DG if they take Love at 5, instead of holding onto the pick and hopeing for DG.

I am not a big fan of Kevin Love. If we somehow get the pick and choose Love, it's a mistake. I think we can get Danilo at #10. Hell the Portland deal (we pick Augustine) is better then going down to #5.

Kevin Love reminds me of Sean May... and Thorn wanted him too.

eric gordon or someone is falling down to us and we are going to pass that chance to get a f***ing white itailian boy. Brook Lopez is faster and better than love and he will fall down to 10

Thorn still loves the fast break, Love's outlet passing is unbelievably precise and can chest pass it the full length of the court.

Bayless would be great to have at 5, but the Clippers just moved up to 4 specifically to seal him up.

Westbrook anyone?

What? When? Details or link!

Do it NETS! It would lower the chances of the Wolves making a dumb trade, giving up Mayo!

Hey, Bobby Simmons and Mike Miler both make 9-10 million. Anyway the Nets can get Miller + 5th pick in a trade?

Ok, if they are going to trade with Memphis what about Simmons + 21st pick + 40th pick for Mike Miller?

Then use Yi + whatever else filler to get Brand?

Then give Brand an extension of one year on his current contract so both Miller's and Brand's contract expire before the summer of 2010.

That way the Nets can be competitive for the next two years and still be in the running for the 2010 free agency.

I think Miller's got game, but honestly I think Simmons was better when he was healthy.

simmons can actually score... how do u think he got that fat contract? he has talent... just bad luck with injuries

i would cry if we got love i would be mad Danilo cause then we wasted are pick because he could fall down give them marcus williams and someone else i don't want to give them are future picks
