I think that CJ has been untouchable because of his relationship with Dame. My final thoughts on the matter:

I wish Billups nothing but success.

The team's behavior and actions regarding this hire are... odd. Calling a Tuesday press conference but refusing to name who is going to be the coach? The radio silence from team officials and authorized media representatives on social media? Usually teams are thrilled with their hiring of a coach and trumpet it to the moon to attract free agents.

Billups has been vetted by numerous organizations prior to being on the Blazers' short list. Even though what he did was troubling, to say the least, since then he's been a model citizen and an asset to every team he's played/worked for.

The Portland Media will have an initial shitstorm about this hire. All the old skeletons will be drug up. The Blazers will be lucky if it dies down fast enough to not force Billups to resign before he even coaches a game.

Hopefully Damian doesn't get caught up in this and poison him to the fan base and the local media. The team makeup next year is going to be very different and the team needs it's superstar to be 100% on board.

While it is true that dame was 7 years when the allegation happened but I think we all found out like 2 week ago about the Billups rape allegation. Dame and Neil and Jody still all interview him. I can’t imagine that they didn’t bring that up once. Dame can’t make an excuse that he didn’t know it happened but still went into the interview process knowing that something happened. Now, about Billups. There’s a whole lot of variables going on here that we may never find out the truth about the whole situation. But what should be more maddening to the fan base is Jody Allen own past of sexual harassment. It is Jody Allen past that is making me question my loyalty to the blazers
