as much as i dislike Neil Olshey, i do not belive for a second that Dame is "innocent" in this Coaching Drama, he definetly knew about Billups at some point during the Interviews

Even if he did.. so fucking what? That now makes him guilty of something? Fine be outraged. But dont be surprised when he walks away over it

I don’t think twitter is good for Dame. If you follow him, he almost always engages with the negativity he gets. It bothers him and it’s obvious. This isn’t a new development, it’s been like this for years. But this is something EVERY pro athlete that has an account experiences on some level. If I were his agent I would honestly advise him to just delete the app altogether.
I hate everything about social media. It's given every hater, wacko, and bully a place to harm, control, and spew venom. I don't twitter, instagram, and rarely go on facebook because of that. I really hope Dame, & all of us focus on the good, and possibilities of the future. Otherwise we ain't gonna be around long. I hope it's not too late.

That's the issue with athletes today, it's one way to get their "brand" out there. But if you read his tweets, there's so much "come play for my team!" or comments said to him that none of those people would even have the balls to say to his face.

In essence, it gets ruined by a bunch of young immature shit heads who ruin everything else they touch.

Hope Dame gets mad and ask for a trade. Dude deserves a ring like Clyde

we’d all be happier without it. I know because every year I usually delete all social media apps for a month or so. But like an idiot I always end up going back. It really is a problem. One of these days I’ll just delete them for good, and be truly happy lol.

Why didn't LeBron ask for a trade when Racist garbage was painted on the wall in that well to do neighborhood in Smogtown. Crap happens everywhere. The grass ain't always greener. I also believe Dame is worthy of a ring. It would be nice though, if he was the leader & main reason. Dame ain't no jock clinger. He's an Alpha.

I stopped watching the news. It was bad for my blood pressure. This crap being spewed ain't helping either.

Don't you have this feeling that it’s not about if he want's to leave rather than when? I do think he want's to leave and win a championship which is absolutely fine, but i have the feeling that he's just looking for a reason because he talked so much about loyalty and running from the grind over so many years that it would look really akward. I think today is the beginning of the end of Lillard's career in Portland and if not this summer, then he's out next summer definitely.

Just got back from our family camp in central Oregon, zero internet of phone since Wednesday. I did drive up the a ways to get a signal so my wife could contact her 98 year old mother, so I did tune in to this forum just to see what was happening pertaining to the coach search. Saw some various points of views expressed with feelings so when the wife said lets get back to the family and tune distractions out it actually felt good to leave it.
Now Im back and tuned in here and wow!
I hope whoever the new coach is people will get behind them and see what happens. The new season isn't to far off! Go Ducks

Dames contract is up a couple years so a change may be something he wants and really theres nothing wrong with that. Its pro sports built around youngster millionaires and they should be allowed to, once contact is honored to experience new horizons, life is a journey!

Yeah 4. By that time he will be 35.

No, I think if Portland took this summer and reworked the roster to fit better, and add a coach who he believes will get the most out of the team, I dont think he wanted to go anywhere. I think he's just been trying to find reasons to stay, and hes simply running out of reasons why he should

All the Dame trolls are rejoicing now. They're coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches. It's truly pathetic.

I wonder who Damian really wanted as the coach. I know that some names were dropped by Chris Haynes, but they weren't necessarily his choice (iirc, Dame pretty much said that his words were taken out of context).

Maybe Damian is calling their bluff, and seeing what they do. Thus why there was no name assigned to the press conference?

shut up, i know that's nonsense.

Want would the Blazers do if Chauncey backs out as the new HC. It will be madness lol

What blows me away is that since this allegation, hes been employed by the Toronto Raptors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, ESPN, and the Los Angeles Clippers again as a coach, yet here we are over 2 decades later and Blazers fans are getting mad at this hire. He's won an NBA championship, a finals MVP, and is beloved in multiple cities. It's been 24 years. Hes created a hell of a career, has a wife and daughters, and is widely considered one of the greatest leaders of all time in the NBA. Instead of the dumb outrage that twitter and forums love to create, can we please give him a shot to make this team a winner like we would anyone else and stop railroading him about an allegation from the last millennium?
Good point, and Kobe

would you blame him? I wouldn't

Blazer fans are about to run a superstar out of town. What a joke.
Sad thing is, it's really the trolls for the most part. Social Media gives them a HUGE voice. This is a case where the school clown ruins it for the whole class. The majority gets punished for the clowns act. Majority loses. I hope this ain't the case with our Blazers.

I’d hope Dame is smarter than that. I’m not gonna put too much stock into Haynes anymore. He knows people think he’s Dames mouthpiece, and I think he uses that to his advantage. Dame has come just short of calling him out before. I don’t think he’s conspiring with him, if he wanted out he would just tell Olshey imo.

Thanks man! I needed this post. I love Dame. He's given me the most unbelievable moments in my Blazer Fandom(fan since '77). I've shed more happy tears after his Late game heroics than any other player that i've ever followed. And that includes All sports teams that i call my favorites. Dame is just that special.

Except, Dame isn’t mad at the franchise.

He’s mad at the fans.
i really think youre smarter than that

dame knows pdx loves him, that portland fans love him, but he could use this as an excuse for wanting out (if he really wants out)

It's raining here in Colorado for the 3rd straight day, and it's a Godsend. We all need it to rain in the West. And Blazer Fans need Dame to make it rain shots for them for many more years.

I am hoping it’s the vocal minority
I think a lot of it isn't even Blazer fans. I looked at some posters history on Reddit and quite a few had never posted on r/ripcity before.
You could probably find a good number of them on other teams subs but I couldn't take reading the garbage there anymore.
