What the fuck is this forum these days?
Haaa... I really don't know MM. I don't always agree with what you have to say, but I've always appreciated your brutal honesty, because that is my way and it is the easiest way to be understood. What has happened to this forum is no different than others we have perused in the past. The signal to noise ratio makes deciphering intent difficult and peeps tend to drift away.

Seems the signal to noise ratio took a spike when the O-live forum went down, but that's ok. What has bothered me is this forum is supposed to be representative of our Blazers and the content is not what I remember as Blazer season ticket holder, from the inaugural season (though I was only 14 yrs. old) and through two seasons in the Rose Garden would want to read.

We all have differing points of view and that should be expected, but the culture has changed to an antagonist "poke the bear" free for all. Bottom line for me, it used to be a game for fun. Now everyone who posts is an expert Owner, GM, Referee, Coach, Trainer, Mentor... what have you. I will always love the Blazers. I will not love them because of the Championship they brought to Rose City, but because I got to know a few of the players that became personal friends. The two I became very good friends with are now departed. My memories will not be about their basketball prowess, but their personality both in victory and defeat. So... I lurk. Been around the game for decades. I have coached at 3 levels and refereed the same. Am I a wizard that knows all?... no. I'm just a fan and I too am disappointed in the direction this forum has taken.

For the unbelievers I'll give you a taste. The attached jpeg is one of the Championship Buckles you had to be CD depositor of $5 large to get. I have three. Mind you that's 1977 monies. I also have a trove of stuff from then through the 1990's. I may not speak often, but rest assured I am not a bandwagon or casual fan.IMG_0632a.JPG

You can buy this baby brand new for $18,000.

Awesome post about fandom but it has no business in this thread. This is an OT thread about buying a car.

So I bought the 2015 Mercedes-Benz E350. Not Diesel. It's great and I can drive UberSelect with it if I want. Phew. That part is done. Thanks for your help. I did want the Avalon. It was my first choice but it was much more expensive. I couldn't get the monthly payment under $700. I have bad credit and that wasn't going to work.
Get ready for some expensive maintenance.

What do you mean by signal to noise ratio? I'm trained in electronics and almost certainly have a completely different definition.

Make sure you and your husband bring your passports. One of my favorite fall drives in the Pacific NorthWest is the drive up to Port Angeles and then taking the ferry to Victoria, Canada. Love Victoria. One of the most charming and romantic cities on the west coast.
Make sure you have afternoon tea in the lobby of the Empress Hotel.
I've done that except I've never had tea at the Emprss.
I have had the best French Onion soup at the Victoria Old Spaghetti Factory, though. I also had great Manhattan clam chowder at a restaurant near the ferry dock in Port Angeles.
Don't forget the Butchart Gardens.

I've eaten at that Old Spaghetti Factory. That was honestly the longest meal of my life. I think we were there for 3 hours. Wine, bread, wine, salad, wine, wine, bread, wine, spaghetti, wine, wine, ice cream. Not even much of a wine drinker.

I want Victor Oladipo to buy the Victoria Old Spaghetti Factory and renamed it the Victoria Old Spaghetti Factory by Victor Oladipo. Who's with me?

And then update it with a Mexican train theme, renaming it Victor's Victoria Old Spaghetti Hola Depot?

Yeah, if I were you KS, I'd just leave it on UberSelect mode, if you drive UberX tons, I'm thinking you'll actually be losing money in the long run.

Found a couple options Eric

But somehow, you managed to down all that wine. It's all in the genes.

You oughta get a medal for drinking that wine.

To tell the truth, the last time my wife and I went to the Portland Old Spaghetti Factory on the Willamette just off Macadam, we had half a carafe of Chianti and it was surprisingly good for a cheap wine. Some waitress on her last day at that job thought she'd stick it to the company and probably gave everyone that ordered a carafe of Chianti some really expensive French wine.
Anyhow, if you had gotten the soup instead of the salad, you would have been in for a really nice surprise.
I'd go back to Victoria in a heartbeat. Also, loved going through Olympia cause my adoptive grandfather was the longest serving comptroller for the state ever. He had a house near the capitol building and when they wanted to build a parking lot they bought part of the land from him. He got a special parking spot near his house just for him. I also received some property near there that I sold about ten years ago for a pretty penny. Then there's a large shopping center at the Northern end of Olympia just off I-5 that my grandfather sold. Oh, there's more, my parents also owned some property that was adjacent to the Sound just North of Olympia. When it was sold, the new owners said we could dig clams there whenever we wanted.

You could have the best of both worlds and buy the 2015 Toyota Highlander I’m trying to sell.
Why are you selling it? I JUST got my wife a 2016 Highlander Limited this past winter and we love it.

I’m taking a year off from work to be with my kids. We need to cash in on whatever equity we have on it. We leased it for three years and only put in 12,000 miles. Now that they’re a little older, they can all fit in the backseat of our other car. We love it, too; it’s just not a necessity at this point.

View attachment 22397 You could drive this van and double your income.
But then you'd have to deal with blood. The sight of blood makes me nauseous. Or, think about the times when you'd see broken bones protruding through the skin. Yuck, no thanks. I'll stick to electronics or software.

The most blood I wanna see is colored fluid simulating blood in an action movie.

Gotcha. While you are in a position of vulnerability, I will give you $999 cash for it, RIGHT NOW!

I listed it at 33k and got an offer for 25k 58 seconds later. I’ll have to think about your offer... I know we half Mexicans have to watch each other’s backs.

Agree with all that, and just think of how much money you'll make when your husband orders that ride from Uber...

Love Victoria too, and that bar (Lions?) in the Empress is sweet too!

rented a RAV-4 over the weekend. Not bad, engine is a little weak but got around 26 mpg on the highway or so, including up mountains and crap. Comfortable car.
