It means nothing to me if he looks like he did in the playoffs vs Memphis last year..
But only plays 60 games due to finger injuries.

I'm more worried about his shooting percentage. I have no doubt he can put up 18-20 PPG but if it's going to be on 41/35 shooting it's really not that impressive.

Normally I'd agree but Lillard and McCollum are going to be relied on so heavily to score that they're bound to put up a lot of "bad" shots..just out of necessity. Like AI back in the day with the Sixers.

On offense at this point he's basically an in-his-prime Juan Dixon, who had a per 36 of 17ppg in his best year here on 45%/38%. So yeah, about like that.

35 mpg, 17 ppg, 45%/38%.

Hopefully his defense is better.

Henderson, Leonard, Aminu, Crabbe, we have a ton of scorers. Did you see us run up the score on GS and LAC? Yes, we lost to LAC, but it was clear that we won't have trouble scoring this year.

Haha this can't be a serious post?

CJ is not as bad defensively as you make him out to be.

It's not so much that he's bad, he isn't that bad, but next to Dame, who hasn't shown great defense, and likely matched up with either quicker or bigger 2s I'm not optimistic. CJ is only 0.5" taller than Dame and has a 2" shorter wingspan. I know he wants to put effort into defense, and does talk about it (as does Dame), but I haven't seen it yet. I don't think it is too much of a stretch to imagine Hendo, Harkless and Crabbe being better defenders than CJ. It doesn't mean he's terrible, jut not the best, or the most committed.

Your statement, though, was not that they should play alongside Dame because they are better defenders (which they undoubtedly are), but that they should play alongside him because they CAN play defense, which implies that CJ can't.

As with other times when we argue, I think we basically agree here. However, I'd like to see CJ thrown into some tough D situations this year, specifically to see how he'll handle them.

I think that will start tomorrow night. I wish/hope Tyreke gets in the game as that would be a great test.

i voted for 14 ppg, because I think preseason #'s are inflated a bit due to the competition.

Tyreke just had knee surgery and is out a month.

I read that later. That would have been a great test, but will have to wait. Jrue/Eric/Ish and Nate will have to do. Ish had a good game last night. If we really struggle against an even shorter backcourt than we have then that would not be good.

On a similar note, think Dame and CJ will have a field day tonight.

I posted this and he goes off for 37 in his first game. LOL.

His lowest scoring game this year is 15 (he's done it twice). I think the most impressive part of his early run has been the consistency. With Batum you never knew if he was going to give you 6 or 16. Even Wes, who was never really criticized that much for inconsistency, would give you 10 points one night and 25 the next, depending on how teams played him. He couldn't create his own shot so he was always dependent on opportunistic scoring. Aldridge had two of his first 15 games last year where he scored 9 points and 12 points.

CJ shows up and there's 15 points guaranteed. The only real question is if he's going to outscore Lillard that night. So yeah, he's a little better than Juan Dixon so far..

CJ has really impressed me so far. He's got this herky jerky stepback J that reminds me of BRoy.

CJ bone on bone confirmed.

How many players have we had that are compared to Roy? First it was Bayless, then Batum, Dame of course, last year Nic compared Crabbe to Roy, now CJ?

I lose track. Who's next; is Harkless Roy? Can Pat be a white Roy?

Are you kidding me?? Plumlee of course! watch him take the ball full court!

Honestly I think Roy will always be a what if in my book. Absolutely showed signs of possibly becoming a superstar, but since know one knows, I think its assumed by too many that he would have been. I think his era was short and sweet, but over rated.

Why would somebody compare those other players to Brandon? Of all those named, the only one whose dribbling style and the way he attacks the rim that is somewhat similar to Roy would be CJ. The others are completely different. B has 3 inches and 20 lbs on Mccollum, but they play somewhat the same.

You said 55 wins and Aminu was better than Batum. I could play this game all season Jinx.
