Classic moron Larry Brooks article on MDZ this morning

Verifying exactly what I said yesterday. When the team is playing well, morons have to find something to bitch about and it is usually MDZ. I know Brooks is a total moron but he's stooped to a new low now. Dude, get a clue. The Columbus game was pretty chippy. When you are being asked by teams for Del Zotto, you aren't going to play him 25 minutes in that type of game. There was nothing wrong with Del Zotto's game vs. Columbus. The biggest dumb play by any defenseman in that game was Staal's stupid penalty with 4 minutes to go. Never mentioned by any media person.

I don't have a problem with stating that Del Zotto needs to play better. However, you can't keep bashing the guy who many teams are asking for, and completely ignore the crappy play of Girardi and Staal this season. It's moronic. Brooks is a hasbeen who is just trying to sell papers with some stupid crap that he made up because he has nothing to talk about when the team is playing well. If he had any talent, he would have done an article on how the PP is much better and Torts has dragged his new teams PP to the bottom of the NHL. However, that would actually require some intelligence which washed up Brooks no longer has.

I saw that article before I saw your post here. I agree with your points. BY FAR the dumbest part of the article was where he said we'd be seeking a top 4 dman in return. Why in the world would we trade D for D right now? Everyone with a brain can see that if this team needs anything it's another scorer right now, especially if Nash isn't any closer. Not to mention all the rumors that he himself has been driveling about have been about landing forwards, not defenseman. Wouldn't make sense financially either. Apparently good old Larry has never heard of Allen, that's who's taking iDZ's spot if he goes (or a 6th D throw-in from the trade if the money works).

Brooks has been a dumbass for years. They need to fire that imbecile and hire a real writer who understands how to write an article that doesn't involve bashing a player or coach.
