ALBANY — Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris today paid $1,620 in traffic fines stemming from an incident last month in which an Oregon State Police trooper ticketed him for driving 118 mph with a suspended license.
A Linn County Circuit Court official said the fines were paid with a check apparently written by Harris’s mother. An attorney delivered the check on Harris’s behalf, the official said.
In paying the fine, Harris, 20, effectively pleaded guilty to speeding and driving with a suspended license.
A state trooper stopped and ticketed Harris after seeing him driving a rented car south along Interstate 5 near Albany in the wee hours of the morning on June 12.
