I guess I don't quite get the HCP angst around here. HCP's had the same shtick since he first started posting here. He likes to screw around and make posts that usually aren't intended to be taken seriously. I think some of you newer posters who haven't been around as long weren't quite sure what to make of him and took offense when none was really meant. I think if you take his bluster and bullshit in the way it's intended, as good-natured ribbing, he's pretty fun to read. Personally, I'd like to see this whole unnecessary drama ramped down a bit. If you don't want to read his posts, put him on ignore.

I have no problem with HCP personally, but when a lot of people's first impression with someone is that person being a dick to them with no context or history to draw on (since they're new), that's kind of the risk you run. It might take a while before they catch on to the gimmick.

Sorry, but you are somewhat wrong.

All he has to do is say, hey, Im just kidding around... ONCE in a while and all new posters would get it. Until he does, his posts can go suck a nut. lol. and until he does, he indeed runs the risk of being taken seriously and when he gets all butthurt for being taken seriously, that's where I like to step in and say whooaaa... you started this shit, now OWN it!

Its like his first post to me calling me a rook. Yeah, harmless and its his schtick, but if he thinks that he is innocent, then he posts like a complete dumbass who has no clue about human interaction, emotions and all that get up.
The end result is he likes to start fires and then run and hide under water while others try to put it out.
Been like that since I first joined here and his denial of it all is what makes it soo over the top and causes things to get blown out of proportion...
If he was man enough in his posts to just admit things once in a while, I might find a sliver of respect for his posts, but since he never has, I think his posts are some of the worst in this forum and one of the biggest trolls here.
Most everyone else here can admit when they are wrong or when they have made a wrong... but some people truly think their shit don't stink. He posts like one of those and I like calling him out on it.

If you are going to make jokes, you better understand not everyone will find you funny because not everyone thinks the same thinsg is funny and if you intentionally are trying to jab at people you better expect to get jabbed ast back..
Again, my only issue with him is he starts stuff, but then never acknowledges he did anything. Pretty simple really.

Have to disagree for the same reason as above. Not everyone's humor bone is the same. IM not a monty python fan and don't understand it, but I have friends who think its the funniest thing ever.
The point is, the moment someone is not seeing him as funny, he practically goes after them rather than saying hey, i'm just joking around. And that's my whole point. He has no ownership of his antics and acts like an angel in the aftermath. ITs pathetic really and I like to call him out on it.

Same. I like a lot of British comedy (I grew up with it being a fixture on Saturday nights, since a local PBS station showed it then and my parents loved British comedies) but Monty Python has never been funny to me.

You amigo have nailed it on the head. I've not changed a bit since Day 1. Nobody had issues until recently with these 4 guys or so. Nate-B is the only one who has been here awhile who has beef with me......and he used to be pretty cool to me.

Don't know why everybody on here takes shit so serious......considering the amount of jokes and smart ass remarks tossed around this place. This Orion guy is infatuated with The HCP. Has these long ass posts all about ME. I love it.

I got the email too. And I turned and send HCP a message backtracking on some ofthe things I said innitially. Never got one back and that right there told me that certain people think their shit don't stink and they think they are better than some others on here. Ever since then...Ive formulated my opinion of him based off my interactions with him. Not what someone else tells me he is like.
