Keep in mind, I only was doing a quick search. I'm not sure how to do a search based on certain criteria.

My bigger point, other than to prove you wrong AND WIN THE ARGUMENT...er, I mean, my bigger point was that I think a big reason why the board seems to not be "growing" has far more to do with how social media has changed. If my memory is right, you're like in your early 20's, right? maybe 22? 23? I've been using the internet and message boards for almost as long as you've been alive. Things have changed significantly since the mid 90's.

While I'm sure there are chat rooms still, in the day it used to be usenet/alt.sports forums, email groups, IRC, AOL chat rooms, and various message board/forums. There was no such thing as twitter or snapchat, or whateverthefuck. There are many new avenues to talk about sports, etc.

I'm betting that a big reason why some of us aren't here as much as we used to be is because we've just out-grown this style of communication. I use facebook a lot more than this place, and hell, I use twitter more than I used to.

All that, and taking into account the short attention span of people now-a-days and I think you'll see why this forum has "struggled" (my quotes, not yours) to grow as much as forums of this nature used to.

It was something like HCPs jokes made it seem like Ryan wasn't allowed to participate and was restricted in some way on the forum. I don't remember the specific details, but it wasn't Ryan being soft. It was Ryan, not knowing the forum, thinking that he wasn't allowed because of HCPs hazing...

It seems like the people who have the biggest problem with HCP is new posters, who haven't yet learned to put up with it. Most of them won't put up with it, and it scares new posters away. That's the biggest problem I have with it. I'd love to have new posters join, and lately it's been rare.

I can only speak for myself, but long before I make the decision to jump into any kind of social media platform (such as this forum) I tend to research (i.e.; lurk) before committing myself. I lurked on this site for quite awhile, checking out member posts, trying to figure out if it was a place I wanted to be. It took all of a day or two to figure HCP out (along with a few other posters). HCP made me laugh my ass off and negated the downer vibes I was picking up from the aforementioned others. He was like a recruiting poster (pun intended). Anybody whomsoever that just jumps onto a site like this without testing the waters or doing some research deserves whatever shit they get. Or else needs to post on OLive for a year or two to toughen up........this place is getting to be too much of a microcosm of what's currently happening throughout the country.......

I will takes this as a compliment. Agree with you on what is happening around here with the sensitivity for sure. Had I known you are here purely because of The HCP I would have demanded more money from Denny.

Funny how the same 3 or 4 guys keep bringing it at me and the same guys keep LIKING each other's posts. Some some kinda' forum geek snitch gang or something. Patting each other on the back after they take turns snitching out the popular kid in class.
This just in, The HCP is scaring people away from S2 now? After all the years of people joining BECAUSE of me. Some guy I have never heard of quit the 3 on 3 team....becauseof ME? I don't remember this happening. And I guess people aren't even joining because of me as well. Does anybody else remember hearing about this?

I'm not sure how factual this is. I was in contact with all the guys via private message.

The private message thread between me and the guys on the 3 on 3 team has 245 posts.

Everyone who played on the 3 on 3 team knew HCP had nothing to do with it and if for some reason someone thought they were for whatever reason not on the team they would have asked me and BonesJones in that private message thread.

Just not buying that while I'm asking them for their registration info and what names and numbers they want on their custom jerseys that they would believe HCP telling them they were off the team.

@RipCityRyan was a pretty cool dude and didn't strike me as someone that naive.

I would say it's most likely that either.

1. He wasn't a member before the tourney and was recruited to play, maybe forums aren't his thing.

2. IT'S THE FUCKING OFF SEASON AND THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IS A MAYBE MELO TRADE AND HCP.
