Connecticut School Shooting

Dead kids bro......... Semi automatic weapons shredding 6 year old bodies...... Their brains being blown out....... Guns on the street are bad news man. I served my country son, don't tell me what I SHOULD have been doing.

HCP I hear what you're saying, but when you start giving up freedoms in the name of protection, that's when you stop being free. I honestly believe that. If you take away guns, it will be something else. These people are disturbed. I posted that article about the guy in China who stabbed 20 little kids today at a school. Crazy is crazy. If they want to hurt someone, they will find a way. I can't remember where I heard it, but basically if someone is willing to trade their life for the life of others, there is nothing you can do to stop it.

they removed it from your zerohedge link. :dunno: His facebook and twitter pages haven't been updated. I feel like this is like the NFL QBs' Facebook threads every week

This doesn't seem to be the same guy. This guy in the video updated his facebook shortly after the shooting.

He looks just like the guy whose face in on ABC news right now.

Chances are the news media are tripping over themselves to scoop who the killer is ... and are probably fucking it up in their rush to be first.

Today probably isn't the best day for some stranger to start deleting posts on this board.

I think Mamba was trying to be helpful. He's been a GM here for a few years and knows the lay of the land.

Like that guy at clackmas town center whose friends were all shocked?

A relative of mine works for the state cleaning the guy's "mother's" home because she has mental health issues. His mother is actually his aunt, so a fairly dysfunctional upbringing. He had been telling her for weeks to stop "harping" at him or he was going to get a gun and shoot a bunch of people. The "mother" told the press she was surprised and had no warning. That's what they all say to the press, but the reality is always much darker.

I'm certainly not saying there's anything that could have prevented him going off, just that the families and friends aren't going to tell the world that a loved one had mental issues and then have the world blaming them for not stopping him or warning others.

Ryan Lanza interviewed about being a fan of The Daily Show.

That's not the same guy. Also, he is clearly not a fan. But you probably didn't actually watch the video.

In a desperate attempt to try and link a psychopath killer to a comedy show that you disagree with, you were wrong twice. Nice.

He had been living with his aunt, so I hear, and she had stolen 18k$ inheritance from him a few years back.

I'm told that is the same guy. And I'm not linking it to anything, other than to show the guy talking coherently and thoughtfully some years ago.

1. Guns that were designed for the sole purpose of killing humans should be either banned or very very hard to get your hands on. Outlaws will get them, sure. But police have them too. How many times does a bank robbery gone wrong result in 20 dead children?

2. Mental health issues are tough and will only get tougher as the country grows more conservative. The same people who want to keep guns on the streets are the same people who don't want to help those who literally cannot help themselves.

3. My recommendation? Buy land. Build a compound. Await further instructions.

Helpful would be deleting the post from MARIS where he personally attacked HCP for his profession, which takes him away from raising his kids.

That is straight-up trolling.

The difference being that one guy killed, the other guy hurt. Guess which one had the gun.

Right now, I can't even fathom the sort of mind that desires to own a gun. Today it seems to me all gun owners are in some way fantasizing about using it in public, for good (vigilante defense) or evil (killing people offensively). I used to be really pro gun ownership; my family has hunted and owned weapons to hint for generations. But I'm having a hard time defending gun ownership right now.

Think pragmatically: if gun owners as a segment of society can't self regulate their shit, the government will, whether they like it or not. Gun sellers and gun owners should self-impose some rules: store your shit in locked containers. Educate your friends. Don't sell to nutcases. Because if you can't get this shit under control, the government will take over and do it worse.

What's up with Canada? They have just as many guns as we do, but almost no problems like this? What is different?

Socialized healthcare.

They actually treat their mentally ill, care for their orphans, help citizens who need help.

that's the guy from the original facebook page. Don't see a link to the Daily Show, tho.

you said he is being interviewed about "being a fan" of the Daily Show. Come on.

He looks like a younger version of the dude on FB that was on HuffPo, but I could be wrong. Any reliable source that says that's him or are you just going by what the YT uploader says?

I thought that's what he did.

I'd be happy to answer any question you have from my POV, but your second sentence seems ignorant. The events of the last few months have only driven me closer to buying one and a CCL. It'll probably happen when I get back home after the holidays.

how many veterans (in government, socialized, VA healthcare) have their mental illnesses treated?
