OMFG! When will this nightmare end?!? We need a GoFundMe or someway to help these national treasures.

I advise you to buy shitloads of bottled water and toilet paper.
I'm more concerned about running out of toilet paper than getting COVID-19. People here are panic buying toilet paper faster than supermarkets can stock it. Fights are breaking out in the aisles, someone pulled a knife the other day, and a man was tasered by police in another incident. It's bizarre.

Not the tonic! Tito's Vodka warns it can't be used in homemade hand sanitizer formulas because it's only 40% proof and needs to be 60% to kill germs, as coronavirus spreads
  • Tito's Vodka is warning customers that it can't be used in homemade hand sanitizer formulas because it isn't strong enough
  • The US is facing a Purell hand sanitizer shortage as demand for the disinfectant soared 1,400 percent amid the coronavirus outbreak
  • The shortage has led people to make their own homemade versions consisting of vodka, aloe gel and essential oils
  • The company said its vodka does not meet the 60% proof standard set by the CDC for a hand sanitizer in order to effectively kill germs
  • 'Tito's Handmade Vodka is 40% alcohol, and therefore does not meet the current recommendation of the CDC,' Titos tweeted out this week

Told to stay home, suspected coronavirus patient attended event with Dartmouth students

BOSTON — When an employee of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire showed signs of possible coronavirus last week, a medical worker who had examined him told him to avoid contact with others, pending further tests. Instead, he went to a mixer at a crowded music venue.

Three days later, he was confirmed as the state’s first coronavirus case.

And now a second case has been confirmed — a “close contact” of the patient’s — raising new questions about what should happen when suspected coronavirus patients ignore requests to self-quarantine.

Is it me, or has the price-gouging began? Hand sanitizer is in high demand. I've been told that many brick 'n mortars are out. I was curious and checked Amazon. Seems to me these are inflated prices. Ahh, well. Supply vs. demand.

This weekend somebody went through the Portland VA hospital and stole 70 boxes of face masks. It used to be that you could grab a mask out of an open box all over the hospital. Now, you have to ask a health care worker for the hospital every time you want a mask.
