You aren’t in California.I don't know anybody who has claimed the president or governors can "force people to stay indoors". Nobody is arguing that everybody should be under house arrest. That's a red herring
I also can't recall any claims that the current stay at home orders are unconstitutional. Some people really don't like the orders, but there's strong legal precedent affirming the constitutionality. If a stay at home order highly arbitrary and extremely broad, there is a legal avenue to challenge it. But I haven't evidence that any stay at home order fits that description. Michigan's might have some really weird provisions but I'm not sure if there's some right-wing fake news at work there or not
“
Stay home except for essential needs
Everyone in California is required to stay home except to get food, care for a relative or friend, get necessary health care, or go to an essential job. If you go out, stay at least 6 feet away from other people and wear a cloth face covering.
The stay-home order began Thursday, March 19, 2020 and is in place until further notice.”
