We have 6 friends that all struck out monday and today for their appoints. Kept getting kicked out. One friend called the 211# all frustrated and got a spanish recording?
She's upset as her mom in Hawaii hasnt got much time and she wants to get over there, but need a vaccine.

It was a year ago today that Trump said the cases would be zero. The previous day, Kayleigh McEnany said due to Trump's great leadership, there would be no Coronavirus in the US and no terrorism.

Talked to a friend that lives in Or e gon, thats 65 and healthy that just got his second shot. I asked if he bought it on the black market, nope! He said, i dont believe people dont realize you can go to Washington from Oregon and get vaccinated.
He called Legacy in Vancouver and they told him just come on over and towards end of the day and 90% chance you get a shot the a guaranteed second appointment.

In NJ, I had taken my wife for her first shot through the mega center in Moorestown, about 36 miles from my house. She is due for her second shot March 6th. I really am happy she was granted an appointment. I'm registered. I did not get appointment response from the State, only more updates. Took matters in my own hands. I checked out many private firms.

Of the hundred or so CVS pharmacy/stores, I had to choose one of three for availability. I was lucky to set up both shots. Thursday, after work in Palmyra (across from Philly), I'm travelling 93 miles to Brigantine, which is above Atlantic City.

Well, my wife and I now qualify for Oregon’s vaccine Hunger Games. We set up accounts at the laughably title getvaccinated.Oregon.gov website. Now we wait for the random drawing of our names for a future appointment at the Convention Center. 1,900 appointments this week for a pool of several hundred thousand seniors. There are another 2,500 at PDX for folks with mobility issues. How is it possible that the Portland Metro Area, with almost half of the state’s population, only gets allocated 4,400 doses for the week for first time shots?

Tried playing the pharmacy game. That’s a mess too. Not holding my breath on getting an appointment any time soon.

In other news, CDC says it's just dandy to open schools without teachers being vaccinated, apparently oblivious to the fact that the new variants caused all kinds of infections among kids in European schools. Mixed messaging much?

While white Republicans (are there any other kind?) are most likely to refuse vaccine.

Got up early and was able to book my wife & I's vaccine for Thursday, at a Wallgrens less than a mile from home. Cancelled our March 9 ones at convention center.

Texas becomes biggest US state to lift COVID-19 mask mandate
Texas is lifting a COVID-19 mask mandate that was imposed last summer but has only been lightly enforced

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas is lifting its mask mandate, Gov. Greg Abbott said Tuesday, making it the largest state to end an order intended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus that has killed more than 42,000 Texans.

The Republican governor has faced sharp criticism from his party over the mandate, which was imposed eight months ago, and other COVID-19 restrictions. It was only ever lightly enforced, even during the worst outbreaks of the pandemic.

Texas will also do away with limits on the number of diners that businesses can serve indoors, said Abbott, who made the announcement at a restaurant in Lubbock. He said the new rules would take effect March 10.

“Removing statewide mandates does not end personal responsibility,” said Abbott, speaking from a crowded dining room where many of those surrounding him were not wearing masks.

“It’s just that now state mandates are no longer needed,” he said..............
