But bro, when you make random and regular posts trying to call out "Trumpsters", it is a form of an attack and it derails everything. You and several others do this on a fairly regular basis. I rarely see the "Bidennettes are blah blah blah". Its all about how bad Trumpsters are. There are a few here that have gone at Biden and his followers, but to me, its clearly evident, it is sarcastic behavior mimicking the opposite.

Cup complaining that Body tried to egg him on in another thread and he ignored it, is soo classic of his hypcritical behavior. This coming from the same guy who sent me a PM telling me I needed psychiatric help, trying to egg me on... yet sits here and acts like he avoids that crap.
Its that type of behavior right there that has turned sooo many people off from this place and when it happens, those who see it find it hard to not call the bluff. And that's what this place has turned into. Everyone pointing fingers trying to call bluffs because some people cant own up to being part of the problem and actually claim innocence in the face of evidence to the contrary.

If you leave it to your hate of Trump(Which I don't understand, no hate is good) and not the people who are republican and vote for Trump, then many discussions would go much better. You and several other posters on a daily basis continually try to call out posters you have "deemed as a Trumpsters" and it gets so old, and obviously never helps to start a real constructive conversation.

Trump sucks... fine
Trump is a liar.. fine
Trump is a sexist pig.. fine

But when it drops to Trumpsters are idiots.... not cool
Trumpsters are blind zombies...not cool
Trumpsters are evil...not cool

I love debating. I love constructive criticism and going at people with opposing opinions. Its how I believe I continue to learn and not be stuck in my ways, is by keeping an open ear to the opposite opinion.

But that doesn't happen here. So many people who would love to debate, are just like... why bother? This is a joke.

I started a thread a while back truly wanting to have quality discussions about peoples' political stances without bringing into the equation Trump, or any other candidate and was laughed out of the thread. Only a couple people even gave quality responses and one of them even got frustrated with me after a short back and forth.

I'm not saying people on the other side of the fence, including myself, are innocent, but the reality is this place has mostly democratic members and some of them tend to go after the ones that aren't, in thread after thread after thread, but then when a retaliation comes.. its "cry holy murder"

This goes hand in hand with what I was discussing with you a few days ago.

Yeah, no offense, but I don't need a lecture on how I should or should not post especially since there are others who are just as guilty...it's a fucking message board and I post the way I post and the only people I have to abide by are the moderators...so again, no offense, but I'll take directions from them alone.

fair enough. I did say you and others several times though in case you missed that.

Anyhow, good luck finding substance other than a powwow of likeminded folk.

I wouldn't call "Trumpster" a personal attack, but I'd sure like it if we could elevate the discussion a little around here. Less of the "Trumpster" and "slurp slurp" (which was not just one poster, though one poster made it a crusade) and more attempts to debate the actual points made with the best arguments you have.

If you really detest someone, try ignoring them (skipping past their posts) or Ignoring them (using the Ignore function, which hides their posts), rather than trying your best to make sure they know you dislike them and all they stand for. And then engage the people you respect enough to talk to civilly and exchange ideas with.

Using an old forum maxim, attack the post, not the poster. If you find yourself typing something that describes the poster themselves, take that as a sign that you're going in the wrong direction (unless you're sincerely telling someone what a great person they are [feel free to tell me what a great person I am]).

nah. I wouldn't say it is an attack per definition, but its absolutely used to instigate and promote negative drama. Combine it with a few claiming innocence in the midst of it is just icing on the cake of derailment.
Im not innocent, but by and large we agree and want the same.

Using an old forum mixum...

why do they keep reading and responding? why cant i post my opinion and they ignore me? its really that simple.

It's no worse/no better than "TDS".

How about when you ask a question in a sarcastic tone and the person responds with proof, the person who was being nasty responds again instead of ignoring that?

The slurp slurp was one poster. Calling it out by doing it as a demonstration isn't me dismissing their arguments before they are even made. When I used it, it didn't even make sense. I was being sarcastic.

If I am on a crusade it is only to make people admit when they are demonstrably wrong......like every single one of you cries about Trump not doing.

The non blazer fan said Bernie shouldn't attack Biden cuz he wants people that don't tear down the other guy or some shit. And when Biden attacks Trump he'll sing hallelujah from the heavens.

Youre a great person

It'd be great if no one felt the need to be nasty or sarcastic. Honestly, what's the point of talking if the whole thing is a competition of who can outlast the other in terms of potshots? Is that really enjoyable for anyone?

It would be great if we all tried to foster an atmosphere where you ignore people you don't like and don't like talking to and really tried to have productive arguments and discussions with those you respect enough to talk to. Nobody even needs to agree--we can all disagree and still not end up in pointless verbal slap-fighting.

Some sarcasm or tension is bound to pop up once in a while, because that's humans. That doesn't have to be the default tone, though.

Thanks. See, now if everyone could follow TBF's example and talk about how great I am, I think we'd be in a much better place.

All I have to say is, "Trump is GREAT!"..a positive statement...and the onslaught begins.

No need replying to the post. It's futile.

Sure, you are so great that if you ran the country, it would make America great. Again.

For example. I facetiously say "Fauci told me not to worry" or something like that and I get "when did he say that, ever?" from one poster and straight up called a liar by another.

You didn't see that one responded with an excuse about when he said it and the other just ignored me altogether?

No apology for being called a liar and nothing from the other one. I'll just post a screenshot for your convenienceScreenshot_2020-04-08-17-05-35.png

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove to me. I didn't blame anyone.

I'm not saying you did..I'm saying that there isn't really any discussion. There's regurgitating CNN on one said and Fox on the other smaller side.

I think moderation should be entirely different than it is. I don't think being technical about the definition of an insult is what needs moderated. It should be about what is an actual discussion and what advances it.

I can go back to saying stuff like "your post is the dumbest post"

That's pointless.

Wow, this thread sure is aging well. Glad to see it's back on track with no one complaining about other posters. Some people just won't let the horse rest in peace. :deadhorse:

I'm sorry I'm having a discussion with a moderator. Thank Gawd you've come to the rescue, you're the hero this thread deserves.

Wow, this is beyond comical...someone was obviously craving for another confrontation...I posted the gif but then immediately decided not to give the individual what they were wanting, and so I immediately removed it...then Barney Fife and Goober decided to launch an investigation and came to their own conclusion...can't make this nothing shit sandwich up.
