OT Coronavirus: America in chaos, News and Updates. One million Americans dead and counting

You’re right, I wouldn’t. Can you explain how that relates to my statement? Like how does it apply to my analogy.

You compared the virus with driving. A strange analogy, but ok. There is something wrong with the "car". There is a virus out there that could very well kill your family, but you seem to be fine letting them "drive".

If the risk is less than the reward. I mean, yeah... If I knew there is something wrong with the car, I wouldn’t drive it. Just like if I knew for certain the risk of opening the government would kill millions I wouldn’t want the government to open.

That’s why I let my kids go to school, even though there is a risk they catch a virus. If I knew that the school didn’t have policies that lowers the risk of catching a virus, I would take them out of school.

did you do a search or just making up crap again? Why do you continually change what I post?
Your words: “I have seen numbers not even close to what you are posting.”

Then when I asked for you to share that data, you said I need to search for it.

I responded in kind. That statement is just an opinion until you can back it up with the data.

sorry, Facts Don’t Care About Your Feelings... :dunno:

Like I said, there is something wrong with the "car" and it's not like you can just go to the mechanic and get this one fixed. There is certain risk. Look at all the deaths in our country while closing down (albeit late) and trying to isolate to stop the spreading.

If we just all went out about our regular lives right now with this virus in full swing, the numbers of the sick and dying would rise exponentially.

Aren't schools closed where your at? Regardless of policies to stop the virus from spreading in schools, your kids cannot be fully protected. You are taking a risk. But, that's your's to take.

If you need help doing a search, ask one of your kids. I'm not here to be your search guru. Go ahead and discount my information. I know it's true and you could find out rather easily with a search, but apparently you're not concerned with the truth. Good luck with that mags. :smiley-hmm:

The second statement was using the same analogy, but using a virus. It seems you and a few others don’t like the car analogy. We can make it a viral analogy.

That’s all fine and dandy. You are more than welcome to toss out statements without supporting it with data. I’ll brush it off then. I’m just highly confident your statement is bullshit.

The comparison is that there is risk of death every time you drive. Just as there is always risk to be infected by a virus. Would it be better if I used an influenza infection?

The corona virus doesn't come equipped with crumple zones, seat belts, air bags, etc.,...and auto accidents don't kill older people and those with underlying conditions at a much higher rate as compared to more healthy people.

And IMO, the flu and the corona virus aren't really comparable either.

Okay if you don’t like that analogy, I will use the flu. The same principal applies.

1.) The flu kills
2.) Reasonable mitigation and safety can limit the chance of the flu killing.
3.) If I chose not to work, go out in public or send my kids to school by sacrificing the ability to survive from other risks, it better be an extremely high risk of dying.

Is that better?

lol, just like trump, now the attacks come.

No, actually, I don't think it is better, which I noted in my previous post.

C'mon....Seasonal flu = the corona virus?....no way.

We will soon find out. Trump still has a 96% (higher than he had back in November 2016) approval with Republicans and his independents approval is much higher than what he had back in November 2016.

also, enthusiasm for Trump is at 56%, which is higher than 2016, while Biden’s enthusiasm is at a low 26% (Hillary had a 64% enthusiasm back in 2016).

Don't you think it's rather hypocritical to complain about a poster for not showing any links to data when you clearly provided no links for your data? I find it comical.

I love analogies. Just thought that was a strange one. I was more than willing to humor it.

Everyone post links, let's see whose is biggest

Just watched Browns c-19 open up address.
Presented frame work but no specifics other than increase testing and tracking. A lot of generalities and zero timelines or criteria.

Doesn't mean people won't vote for him to get Trump out. I am not enthusiastic about Joe but I will vote for him.
You are absolutely right. There were many “conservatives” that held their nose and voted for Trump.

This election is much harder for Democrats than 2016 imo because I believe independent voters had much higher confidence that Hillary would run the country than the current group that doesn’t have that confidence in Biden.

Once we start having debates, I suspect that’s when you will start seeing Trump pull away from Biden. He doesn’t have the mental fortitude to go toe to toe with Trump (again, my opinion).
