How doesn't it make sense. Trump's unfavorables were much higher than they were today in Nov. 2016 yet he won the Presidency.

Enthusiasm is a marker for supporters to go out of their way to volunteer, donate, get friends out to vote and spread the word. I think the polling is the feeling of not wanting Trump in office, but not excited enough to do the work to get him out.

actually his favorability rating has hardly moved since he took office. Still in the mid to low 40%. That's not enough to get him elected and he did lose the popular vote last time so his popularity wasn't very good over all.

also seems trump is lagging behind many of the world leaders and their respective approval ratings.

This is more like the Caine Mutiny.

Tried to find it actually published on wapo/nbc websites,...can't find it and again, the dates seems odd. Also, not sure about the "enthusiasm" stat...how can Trump currently be so far ahead in that stat when most national polls show Biden leading Trump by a good bit ?

A large percentage of Democrats supported someone other than Biden within the last couple of months. It takes time to get over the fact that your guy/gal didn't win and get enthusiastic about someone you didn't think was the best choice out of the 28 candidates.

That's part of it. Another part is that Trump's supporters tend to be fanatics. There are relatively few people who don't have a strong opinion about him one way or the other. Those that like him a lot are going to be enthusiastic about voting for him.

It doesn't matter as long as Biden voters vote for him, even if it is unenthusiastically. However, it does provide an opening for Trump, in that if he can convince the unexcited Biden voters to not vote, then he can win. And that is certainly the game plan, voter suppression is the number one tool in their toolbox. So we'll see. Didn't work too well in Wisconsin last week.

I personally shave everyday so I have less surface to scrub germs away....I don't get the beard trend ...I'm thinking of shaving the head for the same reason...after reading how these germs attach to surfaces the last thing I need is more landing zones...good thing is I can justify taking really long hot showers now as protection from the virus and not worry about wasting water

So he won because they hated Hillary more?

Not all of them, but certainly enough to give Trump the nod. And some were probably so disgusted with the choices they probably didn't even to bother to vote.

It's my opinion that we won't see that sort of indifference this November.

Yeah that indifference was costly. People figured she'd win anyway so they didn't vote. She messed up not campaigning in the midwest. People saw what last time caused, they will vote this time around. There was a moral high ground to be had then, that was thought to be affordable.

Also, we will see a support Hillary didn't have. Pretty much every democratic politician will be campaigning for Biden.

That's exactly why I questioned the dates in his supposed "enthusiasm" stats...the dates made no sense.
