False... 79 deaths per million. Much better than most of the European countries

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
One might consider the fact that Italy, France, Spain and England are each about the size of one US state...sort of makes those numbers moot points. On the other hand Taiwan which is about the size of one US State and is right next to ground zero has been one of the most successful countries at capping the spread.....having been through SARS they didn't fuck around....Trump fucked around to the detriment of the spread stateside. Trump as well as many world leaders needs to shut the fuck up and dance or go golfing and let honest professionals lead the fight.

Then I guess we can use that same argument on the amount of testing right? :dunno:

Was I reading this statement wrong?
If you look at the link, and the LONG list of countries below us in deaths per million, I would say so. He said all countries. You pointed to europe.

And if you sort the “deaths per million” we are well below the world average. Your point?

I don't think this is a time for arguing at all...we need to collectively move towards the process and solution and not get stuck in the situation and a chicken or egg blame game. This virus has no passport or visa....nationalism is not important when the whole globe is under attack

100% agree. So we should agree that everyone in the world got this wrong in the early stages. I can concede to that.

We should focus on the here and now.

Not everyone in the world got it wrong...Denmark shut it's borders first in Europe...Taiwan and Hong Kong got with the program right away....fear of a tanking economy made Trump balk during an election year. Worrying about polls instead of pumping up our emergency response capabilities...too little too late. History will sort this out later...for now. It's time to cheer for first responders and help them fight this thing. Order some food for your local hospital emergency room workers and have it delivered....much more helpful than to watch some political polling trends.

Damn that pesky Fake News New York Times!

President Trump’s decision to halt funding for the World Health Organization, depriving it of its biggest funding source, could have far-reaching effects in efforts to fight diseases and make health care more widely available across the globe.

Mr. Trump’s order centered on the organization’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, and he is far from alone in criticizing its actions and statements. Some countries have disregarded the W.H.O.’s efforts as the epidemic has spread, failing to report outbreaks or flouting international regulations.

But the W.H.O. is responsible for much more than epidemic response, and it now finds itself financially imperiled by its newfound place in the cross-hairs of American domestic politics.

Here are answers to some common questions about the organization.

And if you sort the “deaths per million” we are well below the world average. Your point?
My point is you're wrong. Sort by deaths per million. We are at 79. There are currently only 14 countries listed higher than us. The world average on that link is 16.6. 16.6<79.

Do we trust the good Dr?

His track record isn't fantastic, thus far
I trust Dr. Fauci explicitly. The man is brilliant and he is a personal friend of my endocrinologist, another brilliant doctor who cured me of cancer and has his son enrolled in the best technical university in the world which holds more Nobel prize winners than any other university in the world, Cal Tech, home of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
I'm convinced that whatever untruths he told were his attempt at placating Trump, a man of instant anger who must be babied to avoid disaster in the future. Fauci probably, weighed the risk of losing his job and getting an idiot to replace him agianst the damage by saying something not true or risky.

Okay, what did I say then? You told me that I said Trump got a approval spike during the impeachment hearings. RCP proves that.
That's because there were no witnesses allowed and virtually no evidence allowed. Who ever heard of a trial like that?

That’s good, so then you trust him when he was endorsing Hydroxychloroquine during the SARS outbreak?

The House was supposed to have those witnesses before the actual trial. If they didn’t have those witnesses, they shouldn’t of impeached.

the senate were Jurors, the house were the prosecution. No judge would bring a case before jury trial unless the prosecution presented prevailing reason.

You sensationalistic smart ass comments are funny, but your link proved me right and you wrong. Here's some additional information for you. You really shouldn't just accept the trump spin so easily as he's been a proven liar on thousands of ocassions.

by the way, you said flights were SHUT DOWN, Both articles mentioned restricted, just like what I said.

#don'ttrusttrump

You pointed to Sondland's testimony in your reply to @Sly...Sondland's testimony was in November. As far as the impeachment hearings, you must have forgotten how long they lasted...so which day during the hearings are you claiming that gave Trump this supposed "bump"?
