Lets use a specific company in hillsboro oregon as an example.
This company employs a ten's of thousands of people in Oregon.
On one site it's had 3 confirmed cases via testing. It sent those three people home, along with their co-workers for 2 weeks.

This company believes they identified where the cases came from. An on-site taco truck.
They've since removed said taco truck and won't allow them to come back for the foreseeable future.
However this truck served many, many more than just 3 people a day.
How many people were actually infected from this truck if this was indeed the case?
How many people were infected during the incubation period for this virus?
With tens of thousands of employees employed by this company in Oregon alone. Considering how infectious this virus is.
Would you put money on only three people got infected? Or would you put money on more people were infected. Yet believed it was seasonal allergies or worse found themselves asymptomatic.

To me it goes what is the demographic we're testing?
Are we testing all of those who came into possible contact with a confirmed case? No.
Are we testing those who are experiencing symptoms of the virus? No.

So what's your solution? Who would have handled it well, in your view?

Well, unlike most people, I readily admit I HAVE NO IDEA.

And here’s why:

A majority of the issue, in my opinion, is that we have no fucking clue on a) how to contain it, b) how to prevent it and c) how to prevent it from reoccurring and d) the legislation passed doesn’t help many people.

As China, South Korea and pretty much every other country that has even attempted to slightly lift regulations has found out, it comes right back and starts infecting people.

This also doesn’t take into account what will happen when people can fly again.

We also don’t know if “herd immunity” will work.

And the idea that we could’ve been more prepared with tests is a false one, in my opinion. Everyone cites Germany, but they have something like 80 million people — and South Korea who has maybe 60 million — don’t quote me on that though.

When problems arise in larger territories and populations, the problems are exponential in their impact rather than a linear line.

In my opinion, it’s a no win situation for whoever was in charge.

THAT SAID...

Without getting into the politics of it all, neither party had/has the average persons “best” interest at heart given the bailouts and legislation passed.

For example, one independent candidate stated that if this was *really* about the people, you could’ve paid every family in America 5,000 for 3 months with that 2 trillion stimulus package rather than butchering it up and down the block to give a fraction of that as a one time payment. And before people scream socialism, this was a libertarian. If you’re gonna pass something like that, at least have it benefit the people.

That is just one example but their are many more.

It’s been apparent for at least 10-12 years that the parties are virtually identical and that we live in a Corporatocracy - in fact I did a thesis on this in college — then got into politics for a period of time.

Also, the media is doing absolutely no favors in “uniting” the country nor is it doing anything to help “reduce fear and panic.” If they reported *actually relevant* topics Trump never would’ve won the election to begin with, which is a whole new topic.

But I’ll say this... I would’ve trusted pretty much any random party outside of Republicans and Democrats to handle the LEGISLATION piece better as they aren’t beholden to corporations. (Funny how corporations donate massively to both parties, huh?)

The actual health piece I think is impossible given the size of our country and the amount of people.
