The vaccines required by school have been and evaluated for many years. We know and understand the long-term impacts of those.
Comparing the vaccines required by schools is not the same.

This is a false comparison. The Blazers record is binary. They either won or lost. There are no other variables involved.

All the 'science' surrounding covid changes (seemingly daily). No one has all the data or fully knows the best course of action.... Until there is definitive evidence of the full impact of the vaccines (including the long-term impacts) - people should have the right to make their own decision.

The hubris of those pushing vaccine mandates is beyond concerning. It appears that those who contracted the disease have better immunity than those who get the vaccine, yet it's being pushed regardless of health history.

Receiving FDA approval is not some lofty standard either.... Approximately 1/3 of new drugs that FDA approved between 2001 and 2010 were found to have safety problems after the FDA approval (https://www.npr.org/sections/health...-drugs-had-safety-problems-after-fda-approval). Here is the key quote:

Even for this mRNA vaccine, we were told that it would stay in the arm and wouldn't travel through the body. A few weeks later we get news that it does travel. Is that going to be an issue? No one knows yet...

We will not have definitive answers on what effect this virus or these vaccines will have on people for many years to come. Until then, everyone should be given the latitude to make what they believe to be the best choice for them and their family.
Of ev
The claim was 1.6% death rate. I show a .004 death rate for 18-29 (and that's overrepresented like I explained).

So its a risk assessment that should come down to personal freedom. So then the argument will be made, that they work with others that have a higher death rate, which is true, however, just because you get vaccinated, doesn't mean you can't spread covid.

So again, here are the facts

1) They are making a personal risk assessment that they would rather not put something in their body that would potentially marginally help them (so would something like the flu vaccine, but we wont get into that argument)
2) They can infect others by not getting the vaccine, but they can just as easily infect them WITH the vaccine. So really, it only potentially helps there own PERSONAL outcome, not the outcomes of others.

Then the argument will be made that it doesn't stay in a vax person's system as long. Sure, not two weeks, but still several days. And for a healthcare worker, at most they are taking 2-3 days off in a row, so therefore, they can easily infect even by being vaxed.

But once again, this is my rationale and logic, and I think its unbiased, but I will never convince others who don't want to hear it to begin with
You haven’t had a family member or close friend die yet from this have you? Neither has Kyrie, Wiggins or Beal.

Poor communities are often food deserts with no supermarket, let alone farmers' market. Just fast food and liquor stores that sell a few unhealthy food items. They also lack parks or even sidewalks. Schools don't teach nutrition. Millions in subsidies make soda and junk food cheap. It's not enough to lecture people about their bad behavior, it's structural.

Our friends, a husband and wife, died two days apart this week from Covid. They left behind 4 young children, now in the care of the husband’s sister, who’s very poor and can’t financially take on the burden of raising another 4 kids in addition to her own children. They all live in VN, where there are no readily free vaccines. Many countries are literally begging to get the vaccines, and here we have an abundance of it and many are refusing it.
That is terrible.

Man, that is awful. Have you thought about setting up a Go Fund Me page for them?

sorry for the loss of your friends. Best of wishes to their family

That is brutal. Sorry for the kids.

So sad, sorry to hear! not cool that so many refuse but so many countries need.

These are all good good points. I’m not sure the establishment who designed these circumstances is the one I want to take orders from when it comes to health. Given those points you brought up, is it surprising how low the vaccination rate is for people of color? Can’t really blame them, or anyone else who’s been boned by Uncle Sam in their tenure on this planet.

Mandating consumption of a product is an even better way to get clients and grow your business! It science!
Yeah i mean what if they had people consuming something every time they went to mass, like a cracker and some juice, that would be insane

I know. What if they couldn’t go to the grocery store or to a restaurant anymore if they didn’t eat the cracker and juice? That would be insane.

no words will do this justice. Sorry, braddah.

One of their children is my daughter's good friend. They've been Facetiming each other ever since we moved back here. My daughter's been bawling her eyes out ever since she heard the news. Their grandma, who pretty much raised the children since mom and dad had to work in the city and only get to see the kids once or twice a year, died last year (not from Covid). Just a fucking terrible situation all around.

Fuck. So sorry.

If they missed the juice and cracker would they maybe kill people? I think Jesus would hate that

Comparing SARS-CoV-2 natural immunity to vaccine-induced immunity: reinfections versus breakthrough infections

“SARS-CoV-2-naïve vaccinees had a 13.06-fold increased risk for breakthrough infection with the Delta variant compared to those previously infected, when the first event (infection or vaccination) occurred during January and February of 2021,” the study read. “The increased risk was significant for symptomatic disease as well. When allowing the infection to occur at any time before vaccination (from March 2020 to February 2021), evidence of waning natural immunity was demonstrated, though SARS-CoV-2 naïve vaccinees had a 5.96-fold increased risk for breakthrough infection and a 7.13-fold increased risk for symptomatic disease.”

The analysis also found that solely vaccinated individuals “were also at a greater risk for COVID-19-related-hospitalizations compared to those that were previously infected.”

The study ultimately concluded that “natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity” and that “individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.”

Jeeze. I'm so sorry man.

That's devastating man. Sorry

Wow. Sorry to hear that. Good on you for helping out however you can.

Just stop making junk food insanely cheap. The government already funds school lunches. If the government wants to fully fund school lunches I'd support that. In fact, it's happening in schools this very year. Every child in school gets free breakfast and lunch. At least, in Oregon.

By removing the subsidies on corn syrup and other junk food you would remove much of the incentive for people to buy it.
Same for Iowa, free breakfast and lunch for all kids.

Antivaxxers aren't terribly bright. One posted her fake vaccine card on TikTok with her name clearly visible. And was promptly reported to FBI.
