What country is at 85% vaccinated? If you put all the bullshit aside there’d be nothing left. Not sure how people can still look around at the countries with the highest vaccination rates and still think mitigation of this virus is predicated on the consumption of a vaccine that has already been widely distributed. It’s clearly not going anywhere. If you think the vaccine is going to lessen your symptoms then get it, absolutely. But the virus isn’t going anywhere.
What country is at 85% vaccinated?
Because it's not distributed widely enough until that point. This has been known for a year or so...
Care to try again?
"Just over 91 per cent of the population aged 12 and over have been vaccinated."
If only 91% of population over the age of 12 are vaccinated, and 17% of the population are under 12 then only 74% of the population is vaccinated.

How many times are the goal posts going to move? We’ve gone from 70% of adults needing to be fully vaccinated to reach “herd immunity” and now we’re sitting at countries with 90+ percent fully vaccinated not seeing results, a second booster and demands that children now get the jab. What’s the next benchmark going to be?
91% of the people allowed to get the vaccine.
If there is a sect of people( children) not able to get it, due to government restrictions, then they shouldn't be a factor in the equation.
Or should we go yell at the kids to go get vaccinated?
“Were at 91% but those damned kids just wont get jabbed!!!”
So if children have been restricted from getting the vaccine, how come people weren't saying, we need “x” percent vaxxed, but kids make up “x” percent, so we actually need “x” percent of adults vaccinated to reach herd immunity.
Goal posts moved quite a bit on this one…
No epidemiologist ever said 70% of adults would be herd immunity... It has always been around 85% of the population. How many times are the goal posts going to move? I just quickly went back and read a few articles from around May, when most were eligible, and each one said we don't know for sure, each disease is different, some diseases its 70, some 95. And mutations have a big affect on the percentage, but all were guessing higher than lower. And all said percent of the population, not eligible population. No epidemiologist ever said 70% of adults would be herd immunity... It has always been around 85%.
There is a reason children were not excluded from the 85%... They spread it and carry it very capably. You're completely ignoring natural immunity... Which school age children have especially.

“If you really want true herd immunity, where you get a blanket of protection over the country ... you want about 75 to 85 percent of the country to get vaccinated,” Fauci, the longtime head of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in a live-recorded interview with Rameswaram, the host of Today, Explained. “I would say even closer to 85 percent.”
This isn't about rules. It's about reality. In order to get to where we need to be we need pretty much 100% of people over 12 to get vaccinated.91% of the people allowed to get the vaccine.
