The pup is my brother so naturally he is an asshole. That I actually believe the pup's an asshole?
I know this will come as a shock to you, but some people say things that aren't exactly true. And some of those people make videos!
barfo
I ran errands. I was forced by the state to wear a seat belt. I was forced to have a driver's license and car registration. I was forced to stop at red lights. I was forced to signal before turning. So much freedom lost when I just needed groceries! That I was forced to pay for.
Oh, and I wore a mask.
Is forcing people to drive on the correct side of the road also removing their freedom?I would say, that in a free country, to force people to comply doesn't sound much like freedom. Here in America we seem to be trying to normalize: forcing our views upon others...
Sure, but there is no evidence that shows that is happening regarding this topic.Could that be truth for some people from main stream media or government too?
Is forcing people to drive on the correct side of the road also removing their freedom?
Well, if you refuse to drive on the correct side you will be thrown in jail.Nobody is forcing you to do so. In actuality, we all drive on the side that we were taught was the correct side to drive on. We do so by following a socially constructed set of rules. None of which we are being forced to comply with. But we generally do so out of our own sense of right and wrong, or society as a whole would never work.
This IMO is very different than forcing people out of a job for not getting a vaccine though. (I have already got mine, so I am not arguing against vaccines here, of course)
So may I assume if ever need surgery, you will tell medical team not to bother with masks because they are useless? When I look around, I see many wearing masks incorrectly slid down off the nose, etc., masks coming off during eating and drinking, folks wearing every variety of stylish masks, etc. I mean, it's akin to having a peeing section in a swimming pool. I don't wear a mask anymore (unless required to). I mean, why bother?
Great point. So may I assume if ever need surgery, you will tell medical team not to bother with masks because they are useless?
Well, if you refuse to drive on the correct side you will be thrown in jail.
That's far more severe than losing your job.
Logic dictates that when millions of people are quitting their jobs because they don't want to be exposed to a disease you should probably try to limit their exposure.
You do that by vaccinating your staff.
But your personal preference isn't the issue, the issue is the rule of law and how it impacts our freedoms. And the vaccine doesn't come close to impacting our freedoms as much as many things we've always lived with. The vaccine negatively impacts virtually nobody except people who are being misled.I won't be driven down this road. These are two different subjects.
Millions of people are quitting their jobs due to low, nonliving wages. That is the major force behind the "great resignation". At least from what I understand. So I would need a link showing that millions are quitting due to the unvaccinated. Because, while I am sure many people are doing so, I haven't seen anything on it myself.
And I agree. Problem is, corporations have been hiding their covid deaths. Deaths due to the companies own negligence. If they cared, they would have been protecting their workers better in the first place. And, of course, not hiding covid deaths from their own workforce.
I will post an article or video showing that this is happening. (when I can find it).

Nike, Columbia Sportswear plan to start firing unvaccinated employees

Links and caring aren't as relevant to this discussion. These decisions are based on perception.
Outstanding take. Didn't even think about the sponsored athletes. But will they fire Kyrie?
Not at all. Vaccines hurt nobody and prevent nobody from doing anything. They take 15 minutes of your day once or twice per year. There is no appreciable cost or down side. You seem to be simply saying that your preference is... more preferable than mine.![]()
No rule was thrown away. Companies will nearly always choose the simplest and least expensive option first. Forcing vaccination costs them nothing, and they will mandate it if they think it will save them money. Training and keeping employees are virtually every corporation's largest expense. Now you are just throwing away the rules.
As someone who is generally a rule follower by nature, due to my autism. I can't have a conversation without rules. If we pit both our logic against each other. That logic is based on each of our own experiences, which will simply leave us in a never ending loop. Since we seem to be at an impasse here.
This will be interesting...But will they fire Kyrie?
Doubtful because it's all about $$$$

However, building a house is extremely expensive because we have to build them to code in order to protect our community. This is very expensive and time consuming.
Cars are more expensive because of safety features.
You can't carry guns in certain places.
You are not allowed to drive 150 miles per hour regardless of the number of cars around you.
You have to pay taxes
They will put you in jail if you refuse to follow the rules. There is no such law about vaccines.

Do you honestly expect me to prove what each company's motivation is? This makes no sense.
You know when the great resignation started, yes? To assume or imply that the pandemic is not correlated with the great resignation is simply obtuse. Of course businesses can make that connection.
People who still don't believe in vaccinations on here can you PLEASE give me your opinion on this. It seems pretty simple.

Must not have. You don't seem to have gotten my original point. If you did, you wouldn't still be at this. No need to beat a dead horse.
