That’s great news! You should be appalled that a lefty called her a blonde bimbo then. I mean, since you don’t even know her and stuff.

Mags, I use to have respect for you back int he days of Olive. Heard rumors about you when I came full time to this forum and was warned about your obsessive trump behaviour and now I get to see it first hand. Lighten up and quit trying to always instigate a right and left argument and try and just enjoy the forum instead of running rampant with your hair on fire always screaming the left is bad, the left is bad, the left is bad. Anyone that supports trump and his antics has no room to criticize others.

You have single handidly become the trump of this forum as you have further divided this forum more than it has ever been. Congrats.

That title would pretty much sum up the OT section now. :bgrin:

I think the American People need their elected officials to represent them more than having a few rapid test machines.

Congress declines the administration’s offer of rapid testing.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, said in a joint statement on Saturday that Congress would decline the White House’s offer to provide lawmakers with rapid-result testing machines, contending that the resources should be deployed to those in greater need.

“Congress is grateful for the administration’s generous offer to deploy rapid Covid-19 testing capabilities to Capitol Hill, but we respectfully decline the offer at this time,” the statement said. “Our country’s testing capacities are continuing to scale up nationwide and Congress wants to keep directing resources to the front-line facilities where they can do the most good the most quickly.”

Mr. Trump responded unhappily on Saturday evening, recirculating an unrelated tweet sent earlier in the day by Mr. McConnell’s office and commenting, “No reason to turn it down, except politics.”

“We have plenty of testing,” Mr. Trump wrote. “Maybe you need a new Doctor over there. Crazy Nancy will use it as an excuse not to show up to work!”

Alex M. Azar II, the secretary of health and human services, had offered late Friday night to send three rapid-result testing machines and 1,000 tests — the same kind currently used by the White House — to the Capitol ahead of the Senate’s return to Washington on Monday.

His offer came after the top physician in Congress warned Republican aides that with his current equipment, he would only be able to test those who were ill, and that it would take at least two days to get test results.

The House on Tuesday abandoned plans to return next week after the physician, Dr. Brian P. Monahan, warned that it might be risky for lawmakers to do so, citing the continued increase of cases of the virus in the capital and its surrounding suburban counties.

Why is it so hard for Trump to talk about other people with respect? Crazy Nancy, Pocahontas, sleepy joe, etc., etc. He literally tries to belittle and insult any and everyone. Seems like its rare I read a story that Trump is a part of where he’s not talking poorly of someone. Even if thats just media bias in what they print, he’s playing the part of giving them tons of material...

I think it’s on purpose to create a media hysteria. Forces the focus all on him. Negative or Positive press is still press.

It bothers me a lot... I know I guess *logically* he just likes the attention. Its one of the reasons I just could not ever vote for the guy. I hear a lot of people talk about how important it is to respect others, other opinions even if they’re drastically opposed to your own, and thats how I was raised, yet with Trump he’s like a disrespect bumper car in a traffic jam. I dont hate him (maybe Im too nice?), but I roll my eyes everytime I read / hear that stuff... He’s the president of a people that HE seems to be at war with. Heck I dont like the media very much, I have my issues with peoples politics and opinions and I think their is corruption all over in politics but the way he talks about other people whom he is supposed to be a leader of... it just bothers me a lot.

I think he’s past having to insult people anymore. He actually would fare much better now if he would just stop his insulting. :dunno:
Its that hate begets hate thing. Im not sure what came first the chicken or the egg on this particular cycle but he hates on them, they hate on him. Then they wonder why people are divided when their leaders are so divided they cant even address each other with even a modicum of decency. Even his “compliments”, rarely come without a backhand strike. I would say the media and the democrats have at times been on a witch hunt for him (or at least given the appearance of it), and Id even say that at times the complaints against him are at the extreme of petty, but what has he ever done to try to massage that, or lead those people who are part of the country that he’s the president of. I get it, even if he did try there are many who absolutely hate him and were never going to relent, but if he looks like he’s trying to bring people together those people are the ones who look bad. Instead he is constantly berating journalists (whether they deserve it or not), constantly insulting people, and then tries to act like he’s a victim. I think no one at this point buys it because he is at BEST practicing and encouraging the behaviors of divisiveness.

Its not 100% on him, there are other politicians over in DC, and journalists and media members who are all part of the cycle, but at some point a leader at least IMO would say ok enough is enough Im going to lead by example in how we should treat other human beings. Instead he seems so engaged in the cycle he is either unaware of how to exit it, or is unwilling to.

Why was this moved?

What is it exactly that makes 100% of the fuckwads who demand to be out in public marching and protesting Trump people? Is it just a freedom thing like don’t tread on me? That’s why they’re breaking out the guns? I don’t get it

Hate is just an emotion that we can use to motivate ourselves. Just like fear or anger, there's good and there's bad depending on how it's used. Certainly you'd see the value in hating the Nazi genocide as applied to the Jews. You would hate that so much that you'd be driven to do something about it.

Hating actions and hating people are different things. One leads to an action that tries to stop the action you hate. One leads to trying to end a life. I am against the death penalty because I don't believe in killing people. I am not against prison. I understand that at times ones actions may require force to be stopped.

I don't understand anyone hating the Nazis. Of course, they stand for terrible things which all decent people want to stop. But then, that's sort of the definition of hate. Other kinds of hate are based on flawed logic. Here again, hate is motivating us to do something good.
I've been against the death penalty longer than the parents of most of us in here have been alive and longer than the grandparents of some of us. Still, I can find enough emotion to save the life of someone else by taking the only course of action possible in some scenarios which would mean taking the life of a culprit. I don't really see what that's got with what I was trying to convey. A belief in the death penalty is something I see as flawed logic. After all, once we have the culprit in custody, what further harm can he do? But I'm digressing.

Hate can be a useful motivator.

So is this where i state my opinion that i think the dnc media used this virus as a tool to go after Trump?

that i think the media, largely controlled by democratic and liberal political agendas from their corporate owners, use their media powers to instill their agenda on the public trying to pass it off as news, so they can guide the sheeple to vote how they want? And when the virus came to light, they jumped aT the opportunity to use it against Trump any chance they could, when the odds are, no matter who was in office, this likely would have played out the same?

Dnc media pounds Trump for his reactions to the virus, when its the media who controls the messages and the truth they decide to hand out.
Leftist media should be ashamed of themselves.
Do they ever wait for true facts before they jump on the “gotcha” narrative?
