Why do we care about Blevins again?

My understanding is a two-way contract does not count towards a team's team salary cap.
Should Neil sign another 2- way player..... yes IMO. Is Blevins preventing that? No, I don't think so.
Can he sign another one with it affecting the salary cap? Yes, I believe so.

So my question is why does Blevins make smoke come out of your ears? What am I missing? Why do we give a rat ass about him?

I think that some people here believe that he's on a standard contract. According to this, he's on a 2-way contract and what you said about rats and asses holds true: https://gleague.nba.com/twowayplayers/

because while every other team uses those spots to actually develop players, Portland uses it for charity.

It's the principle of it. It makes no sense whatsoever. It does not make the team better in any way other than making Dame happy (or whoever put him up to it, perhaps). You want a roster of winners and fighters, not coat-tail riders.

I mean, the 72 win Bulls carried Jack Haley because he was friends with Dennis Rodman.

I think that means that Terry Stotts is taking a cue from (coaching) prime Phil Jackson. Or something.

Another proof that it's okay is that Trump had his son-in-law negotiating treaties all over the world. And it didn't hurt the NBA cap.

There have been many examples of nepotism. Therefore, it follows that we should do it, too. Can McCollum's mother play?

You can still have a roster of winners and fighters and still have a couple of 2-way players. For whatever reason Neil did not want to do it this year. It obviously was not the extra money or he would not be paying Blevins in the first place. Right or wrong he either thinks he has enough young guys to develop this year without adding two more, or he did not feel like bringing them in during Covid only to send them down to the G League. Either way, this is on Neil, not Blevins. (or Dame)

Right. Surely, it was Olshey, that found Blevins and came to Lillard.
- Hey, Dame, look, we got new player on 2way contract.
- O shit, it's my cousin!
- HB, Damian.

My problem with Blevins is kinda same as it is with Stotts. I don't want to be harsh for Blevins, he may be super nice guy, team may like him and more, he is probably better bb player than I am (maybe not:). But, you know, it supposed to be a professional team.

Comparing Rodman's 72 team to Blazers now? Really? We not there yet.

I would think, that you put good players together, they win chip and become friends.
What we do here is put friends together and see where they can go. Well, they can only go this far.
This system does not work nowhere above high school level. Not in sports, not in business, not in politics.

(I mean, it works in politics, obviously, but for politicians only)

I haven't noticed it was you;) ma bad, boss

His brother can. What's Erick up to these days?

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about Cousins signing with a team yet.
I figured he would have signed with someone by now.
