Just saying that this deal is better than what Orlando, LA or the Knicks could propose!

[LMA + Pryz + Bayless + Rudy + Miller] for Paul and West

No it is not. You have one player who is better then Aldridge, no questions asked in Paul, and who is arguably better then Aldridge in West (IMO he is better than Aldridge). So they are losing the two best players in the deal and receiving one alright player in Aldridge and then a bum in Rudy and a nice piece in Bayless, but not nice enough to make up the difference of Paul and West both leaving. Pryz and Miller's expirings don't make the difference either. I think there are better offers then that one.

I agree with everyone who thinks we have more to offer than the other three teams, and NO management still gets to decide where to trade him, not Paul. I think if Paul knew that Oden was healthy he would be enthusiastic about coming here; but also if management rules out his three preferred, I think he would consider coming here. He might figure if it doesn't work out after two years, he'll be a free agent and still fairly young. And it's preferable playing for a team that will be in the playoffs each of those two years.

I prefer the simple two team trades; I also don't think NO is interested in Camby or Aldridge. So Nikolokolus trade of Paul and Posey for Miller/Prz and Bayless, Batum and Fernandez looks good for both teams. After August 8 we could sweeten it by offering them choice of Elliot Williams or Babbit.

If they are more interested in getting rid of Okafor's contract then adding Pendergraph and Williams or Babbit works after the 8th also.

I'd prefer the 2nd trade; with the fragility of all three of our bigs, it would be good to have Okafor, who is a NBA starting caliber center and still young. It's a little risky trading for a guy for two years, and I love Batum, but I think I would do it. Maybe just because I think the Blazers would be more fun to watch with Paul.

Bynum or Odom?

Would you really want to trade Chris Paul for Bynum? If the Lakers called you up and offered that, would you really take it? I sure as fuck wouldn't. Odom is old. I really don't see much on the Lakers' roster.

Ya but if you told me you could land Pau Gasol for fucking Kwame Brown and change I would have thought you were fucking crazy!

More like Marc Gasol and change. Sure, that was a stupid trade, but Gasol wasn't THAT dominant in Memphis. The guy was an All-Star caliber forward, but he clearly wasn't playing at the level that he has been in LA. Besides, that shit only comes around once in a blue moon.

According to Sportscenter this morning, the Lakers are not on Paul's wishlist. The teams are NY, Orlando, Dallas, and Portland!

Of the teams that ESPN says he wants to play for, who has the best group of young tradable talent and expiring contracts?

If I was Dallas, I'd pretty much do anything it takes to trade for Paul, outside of Dirk.

Dallas could offer Caron Butler, who would be good as either an expiring contract, a player or a future trade piece, Rodrigue Beaubois, rookie Dominique Jones and Ajinca plus draft picks.

Article just came out.

"The New York Knicks, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers are on Paul's list of preferred destinations, sources told CBSSports.com. The sources said members of Paul's "inner circle" have told the Hornets the guard wants out in part because "he feels like they haven't put the right pieces together."

Sources told Broussard on Thursday that the Knicks and Magic are on Paul's list of preferred destinations, but the Lakers aren't. Sources told Broussard that the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks are also in the running if Paul were to be traded."

Maybe we lucked out not hiring a GM for all the FA's. We might have trade our expiring contracts and some of the players that might be needed to land CP3.
