I know a lot of French women. They all shave.
And how do you know they shave?

It's because they surrendered... that booty.

I've seen people get pretty offended by being called Brother before. A minor little squabble between 2 people of the same ethnicity and the one trying to diffuse it said "hey brother, it's no big deal" the other guy flew off the handle because "you are not my brother, we are not related in any way shape or form".... So while most of us use the term in a sense of unity a way to say we are all in this together, others are offended because they only see it as one usage a person born of the same parents. So sometimes even when we use "safe" terms to try to smooth things over it can be construed in negative ways.

Call me anything but late for dinner or a l*ker fanThe new PC term is "Extended Size" because bigger women don't want to be called "plus size" anymore. It hurts their feelings.
Yeah was last year i believe. Lillard was nursing to sprained fingers, pre game he shook pauls hand and you could see paul squeeze and the almost shocked look on lillards face like wow this guy has zero sportsmanship or class.
In the sprit of how this thread is going my lazy yankee cracker fat ass couldnt find a link after a quick google attempt.
That's teamist!Call me anything but late for dinner or a l*ker fan
That's why I say BrahEh, I've had plenty of people call me "brother."
But "Brutha" just sounds like a white dude who's trying to sound.... urban.
Damn right. Ill put on black and scarlet sheets and burn k*be jerseys in the yard to make a point if i have toThat's teamist!
Till you run into a sensitive trannyI like "man" or "dude."
It's pretty generic.
It was last year when Dame was in that serious shooting slump because his finger was all jacked. There was even video of it. They crossed paths in the tunnel still in street clothes. Dame reached out to shake hands and CP shook his hand and you could see gave an extra little squeeze. Dame immediately did the little "Damn that hurts' hand wave, and Paul literally turned around with a big cheezy grin and said something to him.Yeah was last year i believe. I heard Ru Paul started some kind of outrage for using the word "tranny."
Ru Paul.
I hate what this country is becoming. I really do.

People try to use the term PC to avoid having respect for another demographic. I'm sure there are many here who have previously used the term "Welched" or "Gypped" (hated typing those). When we find out how offensive those terms are we change our vernacular accordingly. In this forum people regularly disparage French people as a whole. Calling them soft etc. They say this knowing full well they would have loved to have Tony Parker or Rudy gobert on our team. Those are the very same people that are fighting and dying right next to us. Those are the people that are also affected by terrorism just like we are. They are our brothers.
I am offended by all racism. I don't just call out white people. I call out black people regularly. Even people in my family are still ignorant. By it's members, I am regularly called the voice of reason and referred to as the MLK of the family because I constantly check them on behaviors that have been used against us that they are currently exhibiting. Why emulate what you hate? I hate racism and am affected by it everyday. I truly don't believe that Schilly is racist. What I will say is that there are times when we exhibit a racist like quality and don't know we are. It's the reason why I don't join in all the lawn mower jokes that are hurled at @HCP. The only way we will end this so-called race problem is to call it out when it happens and to make fun of those who are racist. It's only 30% of our country but that is a huge amount of people. If the remaining 70% ofus band together we can end in our lifetime
Here's the problem - you're using racism as a catch-all for any kind of generalization. You really shouldn't do that. People react VERY strongly when they're accused of being racist because of how society responds to racism.
Let me give you an example - I was one of the lead lifeguards at a HOA. My responsibilities were to make sure people got breaks/lunches, that people were doing their job, and to send people home if we had too many lifeguards and not enough people in the pool.
I had a lifeguard working for me who was of Jewish heritage, and was born in Iran. I thought we were cool. We used to talk a lot and we were on friendly terms. He had been a lifeguard longer than me, but I got promoted over him, and it didn't sit well with him. If I asked him to do something, he wouldn't do it. Part of being a lifeguard is that you spend time cleaning. You clean the pool, you clean the locker rooms, you clean the deck. It's just something that you do to pass the time. Everyone did it, including me. He just wouldn't clean. I'd ask him to go clean the locker room, meanwhile I'm cleaning the deck and someone else is cleaning the pool. He wouldn't do it. I'd go check his work and nothing was clean. Still dusty as hell.
I brought it up to my boss, and he said to just keep giving the guard more cleaning tasks and to track his progress.
Finally, one day the pool was empty and we had five lifeguards on duty. I asked the guard in question to go home. He walked out of the pool area and straight into our managers office and accused me of racism. It was extremely offensive to me because I had never said anything, I had never treated him any different, and I actually really liked the guy. It boggled my mind that he would accuse me of this. He said that I picked on him, which was mostly because my boss had asked me to give him more cleaning duties.
The HOA was horrified. They put him on paid leave. They never tried to resolve the issue. They didn't care what my side of the story was. They started nit picking everything about me. After a week they fired me because I propped an emergency exit door open so I could carry something from the pool area to a storage room. That was their reason. I propped an emergency exit OPEN. They said I was being unsafe.
People take claims of racism very seriously today. Similar to sexual harassment, domestic abuse, and any other kind of discrimination against a protected class.
It is derogatory. Maybe you should just consider having respect for others instead of wanting to say the racist and disparaging things that you used to say?
I for one love that this country is trying to be respectful to each other.
You are on the wrong side of History if you complaining about things being too PC.
So in your lifetime you had an instance of somebody playing the race card. So the fuck what? It happens all the time. It also happens all the time is the other person is playing the race card card. There is a such thing you know.
Do you know who Ru Paul is???
I'm older than you Nate. Not by much but by bit. Don't ask me silly questions that you already know the answer to. The bottom line is your instance with the Lifeguard has nothing to do with saying disparaging things about another demographic of people. You regularly complain in here about it being to PC and how you hate that our country is going that route. We're going to pull you along kicking and screaming and you're just going to have to fucking deal with it. Because one day you might come to the realization that that particular term is disparaging. Do you still use the term Gypped or Welched? If not, why don't you?
So the fuck what? I lost my job. It was a big deal. It was extremely hurtful and depressing. I'm saying maybe you should be more sensitive to the fact that calling someone a racist is MORE OFFENSIVE than calling someone Frenchie.
You don't seem to understand that, with how often you call people racists on this forum.
Asking if I still use gypped or welched implies that I ever used those terms. Did you use those terms?
I like to say screwed.... can I say screwed, or does that offend you?
The only person in here that I've called racist is MarAzul. No one else in here has gotten that label from me. I might have said the post was racist, but not the person. Sorry you lost your job over that bullshit. That's pretty fucked up. Somebody played the race card and won.
What you should understand is that not everyone that is complaining about race isn't playing that card but you operate like they are. That in itself is a card that you are playing.
You're always on the wrong side when it comes to this. Conflating the issue with situations that don't match with my argument is. My argument is and always has been that we should not grow a demographic of people together and say that they are all one way. Regardless if it's race, nationality or whatever it's all akin racism and that's what I will call it. There's no reason to argue semantics by saying that Muslims or French aren't a race.
You however, will continuously come in here and argue against showing respect for people by not using certain vernacular that has been deemed offensive. You should check yourself on that.

Whas going on in here geez
Who deems that Frenchie is offensive? You did.
You're not French. Do I get to deem what's offensive to black people? Do I get to deem what's offensive to Muslims?
Yank was supposed to be offensive to Americans. Many Americans wear the term proudly. Using "racism" as a catch-all for discrimination against religion or nationality is a horrible horrible horrible choice.
I despise Rocket fans. That's a demographic of people. Call me closed minded, but I can't stand their fans. Period. That's not racism, is it? But by your strange definition of what racism is, I'm being racist. There is a definition for racism. It's in the dictionary. That word carries a lot of emotions and power. You need to recognize that and stop throwing it about like it doesn't mean anything. You should check YOURself on that.
