If Tiger can combine Caucasian, Black, Indian and Asian into "Cablinasian" then I'm sure you can do something similar. Maybe you're Norgerfrendian?

I have a coworker who is basically of Italian descent, but a few generations ago her family moved to Argentina. Is she white or Latin?

I'll say it again - threads like these are racist. Its as bad for you to be calling out "white" players as for someone else to be doing it to black players. And "crackers" is offensive too.

I know, I know, you guys are going to say that I'm just being PC. And my retort is that racism is wrong no matter how you slice it.

There have to some minimum standards here, no?

Give me a break. You should go watch some Dave Chappel show, and try lightening up. Racism has to have intent. Most of my buddies jokingly call each other crackers all the time just to make fun of the fact that some other races call each other names that would be deemed racist except when somebody of the same ethnic background calls them that name.

While I agree with you in principle, I wish that were true in practice. Entire college courses are taught to engrain the notion that sexism and racism are in the view of the viewer, without regard to intent. Intent is not required to lose one's job over perceived "sexual harassment" or "hostile work environment" or racism.

I think the question is: do you want a board that is allowed to express racism (and allow posters to call them out) or do you censor that type of dialogue as overly destructive to the board?

I tend to fall on the side of free speech and would hope it would take a lot more than what is this this thread for it to reach some kind of sensorship status.

Kind of have to have a think skin kind of board . . . but I enjoy the extra liberties that coems along with that.

Threads like this walk a thin line. I agree, that i don't see malicious intent, although several of these posts in a different context (especially the pill/cotton joke) would certainly cross the line.

But, this is a community and hopefully people tread lightly and don't go too far. The thing is, that if people are actually able to keep things level, threads like this can not only be funny but also in their own unique way piss on the true racism that most certainly does exist. People who are comfortable enough to joke about near-taboo racial subjects in a peaceful way help to take away the sting at the core of the racism. I hope everyone here is able to understand this, except of course the Mexicans cause they can't read.
