I could list 50 times I could have done something like Biden would have done without hesitation but I didn't do it.

Literally the worst sex offense I've committed is guilting a girl into doing something she said she would do anyway.

The story I’m about to share with you about Joe Biden is special -- in fact, I’m fairly certain I’m the only living person left who actually witnessed it firsthand.

It was about 16 years ago, and I was a young rabbi, brand-new to Delaware, on my way to lead a shiva minyan -- a worship service following a death of a Jewish person. I was from California. Back then, I didn’t know Claymont, Delaware from Scranton, Pennsylvania.

A quick bit of background: When someone passes away in the Jewish faith, we observe seven days of mourning, called shiva. We gather a group of ten Jewish adults together -- a minyan -- to say the Mourners’ Kaddish. It usually happens in a person’s home -- somewhere intimate.

In this case, the deceased individual -- her name was Mrs. Greenhouse, of blessed memory -- had not been a person of means. She had lived in rent-controlled senior housing in a tall high-rise building off of Namaans Road. Her apartment had been too small to fit everyone into, so we conducted our worship service in the building’s communal laundry room, in the basement of the high-rise.

We assembled the ten elders together, and it was in this most humble of places that I began to lead the kaddish. Toward the end of the service, a door at the back of the laundry room opened, and who walks in but Senator Joe Biden, his head lowered, all by himself.

I nearly dropped my prayer book in shock.

Senator Biden stood quietly in the back of the room for the duration of the service.

At the close of the kaddish, I walked over to him and asked the same question that must have been on everyone else’s mind: “Senator Biden -- what are you doing here?”

And he said to me: “Listen, back in 1972, when I first ran for Senate, Mrs. Greenhouse gave $18 to my first campaign. Because that’s what she could afford. And every six years, when I’d run for reelection, she’d give another $18. She did it her whole life. I’m here to show my respect and gratitude.”

Now, the number 18 is significant in the Jewish faith -- its numbers spell out the Hebrew word chai, as in “to life, to life, l’chayim!” But it’s also a humble amount. Joe Biden knew that. And he respected that.

There were no news outlets at our service that day -- no Jewish reporters or important dignitaries. Just a few elderly mourners in a basement laundry room.

Joe Biden didn’t come to that service for political gain. He came to that service because he has character. He came to that service because he’s a mensch.

And if we need anything right now when it comes to the leadership of our country -- we need a mensch.

I know this is such a simple, small story. But I tell it to as many people as will listen to me.

Because I think that, in their heart of hearts, when people are trying to think about the decision they’ll make this year -- this is the kind of story that matters.

Joe Biden is a mensch. We need a mensch.

Is that the difference between Trump saying you can grab women by their privates and Biden actually doing it?

I don't know what proof you have of Trump picking out underage girls from Epstein but I'll grant you ALL of it and more if you admit that Biden is almost if not just as bad.

Maybe even worse. I saw him trying to touch an 11 year old's chest with my own eyes. Haven't actually seen Trump do anything.

It comes down to probabilities - there's about a 97% likelihood that Biden will be a better president than Trump, whereas there's about a 3% probability that if you keep voting 3rd party, sometime within your lifetime a 3rd party will become viable.

I have to agree with what you say but have to heartedly disagree with your percentages which are virtually zero for Trump and considerable less than 1% for the third party option. The probability that we might elect a third party candidate is infinitely more likely than Trump would be a better President than Biden.

Not sure how you can say that. If I called you a platytard, or you could me a torturetard, we'd know exactly what the means. Just as anyone called a dotard, or trumptard, or whatever they know you're insult is saying I have the IQ of someone who is mentally retarded. The "suffix" has meaning. Sure you could maybe argue that projection in the psychological sense is happening on both the one insulting and the one being insulted or offended by it. However, it seems fairly obvious that for the most part when "tard" is added to the end of something like that it is to call someone retarded without actually saying the word. Both the recipient and the sender understand the meaning behind it.

In this context, Trump has certainly had his share of past foibles, but can anyone tell me if he's had any of these types of issues since taking office?
 
Anyone can vote for whoever they want, but in my book, given what we have to work with - it is a waste of a vote.

It is like being stuck on a deserted island, being able to sustain oneself by eating electric eel that shocks you when you eat it or catching bugs to eat - neither of these options might be appealing to you but they will nourish you - but if you choose to eat sand with the hope that it would sustain you and become nourishing... It's a waste of a vote.

The time for work on a viable 3rd party is not at the time of selection before 2 that are neither - it is before or after - but at the time you need to make a good choice - choosing to do nothing is the same as making the bad choice. That's my opinion.

You're free to that opinion. I obviously don't agree with it. I believe we wouldn't always be stuck with such bad options of the eel or the bugs if we weren't always complicit in, well these are the two the established parties said we can vote on so, let's work on the 3rd party stuff some other time but you know the time when it actually matters. Because the two established parties have judges and lawyers who have made laws saying you have to "x" amount of votes before they'll put you on a ballot, or let you really run a campaign. Might be able to avoid the deserted island altogether if we hadn't of let the two sides drive us off course so much.

I believe I said 'stuck' on the desert island. This is the situation you are faced with and these are your options. Not getting stuck on the island in the first place is obviously the better choice, but it is not a realistic choice when you are stuck. That's why I said what I said - in my opinion you can advocate and work for the cause of a viable additional parties all the time - but choosing one when it does nothing is a wasted vote. Donating for the 'green' party or passing pamphlets for the 'tortured' party can happen all the time - but it is a long-term goal - and the immediate goal is to choose between really bad and something that is not as bad (or at the very least, incompetent and competent) - with immediate implications. That's my opinion - I do not believe in the cause of additional parties so much that it consumes me to the point of wasting my vote, but if you do - good on you, I just think that logically it still makes not sense given the situation you face.

If we are going to the island example, you can work on building a raft while eating bugs instead of eat sand hoping it will help you survive.
