No, they're using the word for what it actually means--someone with declining mental facilities due to age.

The fact that he constantly misspeaks and sometimes babbles literal nonsense was remarked on and mocked as him declining due to age even before Kim Jong Un called him a "dotard." So there's no particular reason to believe that that's not the reason some Trump-haters seized upon it.

My thread was about a current issue regarding Joe Biden attacking an adult woman. Not that many of you would actually watch the video anyway but now it will be hidden in a 2 year old thread.

It would knock corona off the lead on CNN if it were a new "credible" Trump accusation.

BTW, I did watch the video in its entirety.

Then I went and found The Intercept article that is being talked about in relation to her claims.

For me not enough evidence to have an opinion yet. I do think her claims need to be investigated.

In the past she has said some crazy shit. That doesn't mean what she is saying didn't happen.

Michael Jackson went after victims with fucked up backgrounds to discredit possible claims of sexual abuse against him.

If this is true what a piece of shit Biden is. How could you run for president if you have this skeleton in your closet and at a time when skeletons like these are spilling out everywhere. It would be as stupid as Charlie Rose sitting there at CBS passing judgement on men abusing women when he was doing the exact same goddamn thing himself.

There does seem to be a pattern that once one woman comes out, others soon follow.

Agreed. And for those who believe Biden's gaffes are indicative of the same, the word could also be applicable there.

The suffix in dotard (the suffix is actually ard not tard) has meaning, but it's the same meaning as in bastard or drunkard. It's not a nice suffix, but it's completely different than retard linguistically. Not related at all as far as I can see.

Certainly if someone calls you a bastard, you do not assume they are calling you a retard.

Of course, that doesn't mean that people don't use dotard ignorantly as a replacement for retard because the words sorta sound the same.

Dotard is a great word, I am grateful to KJU for bringing it back from obscurity.

That's a lot better than the close to 60% of Sanders supporters that claimed they wouldn't vote for any other Democratic candidate at the start of the primaries. Most likely, that 15% will reduce further once Sanders leaves the race. I have no doubt that some Sanders supporters will never vote for Biden.
 
Bernie will hang around because there is always a damaging story injected in the race. If Biden gets nailed for sexual crime, Bernie could be the default Democratic candidate
