I hope this crisis will make clear to people that they should be looking to vote based on competence, not just policy views.

There are some elected leaders who have led in the last couple of weeks, and some who have been much worse than useless.

In the positive category I'd put Andrew Cuomo (D, NY) and Mike DeWine (R, OH). Both of them have been able to make tough decisions and communicate effectively, and have put public safety first.

In the negative category: Mayor De Blasio (D, NYC) and - obviously - President Trump (R). Both have waffled, made decisions late if at all, provided misinformation or added to the confusion. And their stupidity or unwillingness to accept reality has killed people.

There are of course plenty of others in each category.

Through your logic, it’s probably at least safe to say the lazy, unmotivated Sanders voters won’t be going out of their way to vote Biden if they couldn’t even vote for their own guy.

Impossible, Biden has already publicly committed himself to picking a woman as his running mate. Kasich would have assured Biden of an even greater victory margin had he chosen him.

I certainly like the demeanor of Kasich but his policies are not that great. For one thing, I've heard that he's a union buster and I'm a strong supporter of unions. Biden is also a strong supporter of unions.

It's perfectly logical.
What would you call a prediction that a candidate who is down by 9 percentage points to his opponent will win the next election. Logical? Pretty clear that the answer is illogical and that a prediction that the candidate who is up by 9 points would win is logical. Now, add to that the fact that the economy is in the toilet and that an awful lot of voters will base their vote on the economy and maybe you'll start to see my point.

My favorite recent instance of this was when they made Al Franken quit.

I've been tracking this thread for awhile and haven't really weighed in, but I am more on your side than the other.

What is the difference between Trump and Biden? Not a lot, from my perspective. Corruption all around.
