Wow! Generous dude! Damned if I would pay nearly a buck over minimum wage.

The guy hired illegal immigrants, paid them way under the going rate while having them work 12 hour days 7 days a week with no overtime pay, provided no benefits as it was paid under the table , provided well below standard safety and even stiffed the workers on some wages. Yeah, the guy is nearly Santa Clause like with his generosity.

He's using undocumented/illegal immigrants as a scare tactic, but was perfectly fine hiring them back in the day. You seem to be fine with paying people lower wages than the going rate for jobs, when in most cases, the people who are willing to work for less than their market share/value, are immigrants, many of them "undocumented/illegal".

And unless I'm wrong, you seem to be against them being in the country.

For full disclosure, the equivalent pay today would be about 13 dollars an hour. I did a quick google search (limited in scope due to the kind of job) and the average salary of those is about 12 bucks an hour in todays market. The current (federal) MW is just around 7.25 bucks an hour. It'd be more depending on which state you live in. Oregon for example would be 10.25.

First....I haven't read one post where folks are pro illegal immigration....Hillary either...pro amnesty for refugees is a different issue and putting small children into detention centers isn't acceptable either...Trump backed way off this the day after several states filed law suits against him.....fucker covered his ass like a scared rabbit....he lacks conviction ...nobody blames Trump for illegal immigration...they blame him for the handling of illegal immigration...more Hispanics left the country than entered since he's been president on their own...diplomacy from this guy is non existant unless you are N Korean or Russian dictators...trying to paint refugees as mob gangsters is shallow and self serving by Trump....he grew up in New York and has done business with mobsters all his career. I have a lot of friends and relatives in Taiwan and it's rare to meet a person there who wants to move here these days...judging a culture by it's expats is a mistake...meet the people who never leave their village or want to...my experience is Chinese people don't bother anybody here in the states...Chinese gangsters do, but they're not representative of Chinese people. new world dude....the Chinese would rather move somewhere else these days...my niece was going to stay with us and go to Oregon State....after Trump, she chose Australia instead for her education. More common than you think. Tourist dollars don't go very far here in the US compared to the options out there.

Tough to say something about something that I was unaware of (I don't watch the nightly news).

I tend to agree with the notion of ending birthright citizenship for children whose parents aren't actually legal residents here. Seems like a ridiculous loophole that these women and others are exploiting.

That said, if they're operating wholly within the confines of the law, it's tough to fault them.

If any want to enter legally and follow the rules, thats good by me. You must ref this whole situation with rules and by the book.

The first thing you do is fix the legal immigration system so that for those who want to enter the country to work, it's quicker, easier and cheaper to enter legally than illegally.

That frees up resources for preventing any actual bad guys from entering.

If your child/sister/mother/etc was being trafficked, you could have a 23 and me sample taken of you, so they could have you on the books (maybe anonymously). And if they find a person who they suspect is being trafficked, they could test them to see if they fit any person who has a missing relative, etc?

I'm guessing thats how it'd work.

In theory, if the adults traveling with children are either parents or human traffickers, verifying whether those children are related to their accompanying adults could at least eliminate the legitimate parents from consideration as human traffickers.

Of course, I'm sure there are more than just the two above-referenced possibilities, but I'm just speaking in the abstract here.

Is human trafficking of Mexican children really that big of a problem? Just seems really difficult and risky to try and cross the border with a bunch of kids who don't want to be with you. And for the people who want to buy or fuck a Mexican child, wouldn't it be easier to travel to Mexico to do the dirty than to bring them kids to your home? Seems like you would be setting yourself up for a lifetime of blackmail. If a person is unethical enough to smuggle children I'm pretty sure they're not going to think twice about blackmailing your perverted ass.

I'm not saying that there is no child trafficking, just not sure if it is a giant problem like it's suddenly being portrayed as.

This is one of the issues I have with politics today everyone blames everyone for doing the same damn thing.
Im for managing things properly weather it be money, taxes, borders, etc.
This country is heading for a civil war real soon if people don't humble themselves and be respectful of others opinions regardless of subject. That is a true American spirit when you can agree to disagree.
Whats happening here now imo, is whats happened for centuries in other parts of the world where factions have been fighting and killing each other, over ideology.
Im thinking the founders of this Great Nation would be very disappointed in whats going on now, regardless who's right, wrong or indifferent.

It's a shame when my grandkids are told at the elementary school they must take sides.

Also in reading the few things that I have, the percentage of illegal kids "caged" by the Obama admin vs the Trump admin is very very different. "Fair" would be The Trump admin is caging kids at the same rate that the Obama admin did. But that still doesn't make it right.

I put in at Milwaukie and will head up towards Oregon City and back.

I don't know whether to post in this thread of the trump hired for low wages thread. But...

In 1980, I built a new house. The foundation was on a hillside pretty complicated and I needed a contractor. I proceeded to get a few bids, I think I had two when Angel came in with a bid
way less than the other two. A Mexican fellow but we were able to communicate, he had a California Contractor license, so I hired him. In the end I was please with the result and he did the job
at the contracted price on time. WTH is not to like? So this lady is a fool, and if you blame Trump for her being a fool, then she is not the only fool in the scene.

Now I do know Angel hired all Mexican workers, or they appeared so to me, but I have no idea what he paid them nor do I know if they were legal documented workers. Another Contractor did tell me later, Angle was a great guy but he hired illegals. I hired a legal Contractor and did not hate Mexicans. What do you find wrong with this? They could have been Polish!
