Cut the bullshit. I can't talk shit about Comcast all I want.

But you weren't talking about Comcast. You were insulting someone.

In any case, it should probably take the format of an "ask me anything". Have one of the reporters register on the forum and answer questions in a post for an hour at an agreed upon time. Kind of like arguing on twitter, but larger format. It can probably get messy if its not moderated well, but I think we will be... :MARIS61:

This thing where people submit questions for someone to answer later on doesn't work, real discussion take place in real time on these boards.

I'm assuming here, but I don't think Sunday Ticket has anything to do with it. Direct won't carry the Pac-12 network either...maybe their logic is the same. I don't know. We don't get much filtered down info to us.

I personally think a lot of it has to do with Directv and the tite grip it has and the NFL has allowed it to have. I also understand that if you are privy to some info that you won't elaborate too much on it mainly because you probably like your job.

DIRECT TV DOESN'T WANT TO PAY COMCAST 5 DOLLARS PER SUBSCRIBER FOR CSN, SON.

KevinCSN is a gentleman and I for one welcome his presence on this board.

You the man, Kev!

in all fairness to everyone in here hating on comcast, comcast is the most hated corporation in the country, rating worse than literally monsanto

id post a link but i dont want to get in trouble

And I say the reason why it is 5 dollars per subscriber is due to the strong hold Directv has had on the ticket and cables continued unsuccess attempts in acquiring it. There just playing hard ball. Just like the other two companies. They have no desire to share CSN just as the other two have desire share the ticket.

Yeah, its kind of guilt by association. The production, marketing and blah blah blah of CSN is probably ok, but everyone has been fucked over by their customer service, internet connection, billing or something or another.

Its like working for Hitler Coffee Company. You could be the nicest guy in the world, but....yah know. Which is why Kevin has to preface that he's actually an employee of NBCU.

Well, then they have to pass that to the consumer, which raises their rates and gets people to cancel due to high rates. It happened here in LA to me with Time Warner Sports Net, I have to pay like 3 or 4 bucks for a fucking lakers channel and I was actually going to cancel today if they didn't give me such a sweet retention plan (free league pass for the season + 35 bucks off a month for the next year).

They are doing the same shit with the Dodgers channel now too here.

How about we talk about why Comcast sucks?

This just made me laugh so hard I spit my water out of my mouth and woke up Mrs. HCP! #PostOfTheYearFAMS

Maybe Kevin is just involved in content, not corporate policies, but he should go back and tell corporate that they have totally alienated Portland fans and that if they actually want to change to a customer-friendly culture, they might get some interest from the board in supporting this initiative.

When they signed the contract with the Trailblazers, they assure everyone that they have a history of working with DirectTV and Dish and others and would do so to share the otherwise "exclusive" Blazer games.

* They have never done that.
* I live just an hour outside Portland and Comcast is not available where I live even if I wanted to switch from DirectTV.
* Nevertheless, League Pass blacks out Blazer games to me, because of my proximity to Portland, even though I cannot get Comcast.

I have been screwed. I cannot watch most Blazer games even if I was willing to pay for them.
I didn't even know what Lillard looked like for most of his first season!

Fuck Comcast. Pass it upstairs.

Wow. That's awful. I would move.

You should pick one of us once a month to join the panel on an episode of Talkin' Ball. I vote for me!

I have a feeling the decisions by Comcast to monopolize the Blazers fan base is a little above Kevin's pay grade.

I have Comcast now, just recently because its the only option where I live. Aside from the Blazer games, it sucks. Way overpriced for the garbage.

Zags, you and I would dominate an episode of Talkin Ball. I would bring the real knowledge and you could talk about your Top 10 whites guys who are 6'9 or taller!

I agree.

and Blazers cable was worse. Wasn't it like 30 bucks PER GAME? haha

Yeah, I think the good thing about it, is my family and other aunts and uncles would all go over to my grandma and granpas house, have dinner and watch the games together.

Haha yea. My aunt and uncle who used to live just down the street from me when I was younger had Blazer Cable. They also had a black box that got them satellite channels for free. I spent all my down time at their house.

had that huge old school moving satellite dish, the camera feed had no commercials, just dudes picking their noses.

I grew up listening to sports on the radio. All sports. Now the options amaze me but if cost is an issue or access, there's still the radio
