Dallas dreaming of LMA

They have had this dream for years. Mavs love to swing for the fences and he would be the perfect replacement for aging Dirk, as well as being a hometown team for LA. Also Mavs love swinging for the fences. Unless we blow up this year LA is will be a lock to resign.

No lie, this makes me hate Dallas a bit. Fuckers.

And in what universe is Parsons a "marquee" scorer?

They can dream but it's not gonna happen. Aldridge will be the next Blazer to have his number retired in the Moda Center Bleachers

Not a bad article since the writer doesn't try and push anything. He spends a lot of time talking about how LA wants to stay in portland and how everything LA has done his career shows he will most likely stay in portland.
La will be one of the top FA's this summer so we should expect almost every team with max or near max money to make a push for him.

Hopefully he pulls a Bosh and says he likes the Rockets and then trolls them.

I'm not sure the Rockets will have Max Money this summer.
I think LA will spend the first half of the moratorium listening to other teams, which why wouldn't LMA when this is the first time and probably only time teams will come courting him all offering him huge amounts of money, then agree pretty quickly before the actual start of FA with the Blazers on a 5 year ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD deal.

They can make room... Cut the Greek, and trade Jones and the other Euro ;)

I'm a firm believer of the handshake deal. It would take a total implosion for me to even hint of thinking Aldridge won't sign.

I hope you're right but I believe there was some truth to Quicks story two years ago that he was ready to go. Dallas is home. It's where his Mom lives who he loves and cares for very much. Marc Cuban is an aggressive owner. He can put it all together in one day or evening and sell it to him. I don't think its a lock. I can't imagine he has liked waking up each and every morning for the last three weeks seeing clouds and rain. It's been ridiculous.

In the end it's on him and his teammates and what they do or don't do this year. Here is to hoping that the bench continues to put up 25-35 for the rest of the season. That means production out CJ. We need it from him.

I don't care if there are 30 virgins waiting for him over there. Aldridge has always been a straight shooter. He has kept quiet, even during adversity, and made it brutally honest that he would ha e left if things hadn't changed.

So when Aldridge says, "I want to play my entire career a Blazer", I think he truly means it. Like I said, if we have a major meltdown, then he's locked

What if it comes down to we can keep LMA or we can keep Matthews and Lopez? I want to keep all three but this team as constructed would be better keeping Matthews and Lopez than LMA.

This post is almost worthy of its own thread and a poll.

Wow! I have over rated a fan.

I could see this happening. Aldridge is from Dallas so why wouldn't Cuban make a strong pitch at him. It would be stupid if they didn't.

Of course they will pitch to Aldridge. I'm sure every team with cap space will.

did U really post that?

What? We can definitely keep all three and we should.

I think you keep LA

But I also think that if they win and are successful, they will keep them all.

I'm probably in the minority but I think it would be harder to replace wes and Lopez for the regular season but we would miss LA for the playoffs like crazy... Bottomline, keep all three no matter the cost.

but I think it would be harder to replace wes and Lopez for the regular season

What I'm thinking is that they are both replaceable. Prob with two guys that already on your roster.(Kaman and with some work perhaps McCollum or Barton)

You're not going to replace LA unless your plan is focused on Durant.

Hey, if Dirk wants to play with LA, I'm pretty sure that we can put together a trade to bring him here.

Kaman is good but he is a backup at this point in his career. Lopez is bigger, stronger, younger and a better defender. Wes' commitment cannot be matched by Barton or McCollum.

LA could be replaced but it would have to be through the draft and we'd have to wait a couple years to contend again (assuming the power forward hypothetically picked worked out (porzingis is my hypothetical PF)
