That would be a really good lineup....but I don't believe we have nearly the assets to pull it off.

I hope Dame gets a title. Since I don't see that happening here, I hope he can go somewhere that he can get one like Clyde and Jerome did. Hopefully the resulting assets from that if it were to happen would make us better for the future than a paltry average of #7 for a decade. That's fine for a team like the Kings who Kang'd it for nearly 2 decades, but at some point, there needs to be improvement or you need to reset and go again.

The certainty you speak with makes me feel like you have insider information that the rest of us would love to have access to... hell it seems like insider information that Joe Cronin would love to have access to. We trade it for Embiid (or Giannis, but for this example - Embiid).

Is it likely that we can pull off the moves that win us a championship with Dame? Well we were one of the worst teams in the league this last season and there are thirty teams in the league so I wouldn't say that all in moves would make us the odds on favorite. That being said if we make smart moves that are very ambitious, we will give ourselves a better chance at a championship than a youth rebuild would because in the NBA anything more than a three year plan is playing with incredibly long odds.

I remind you Kap had two years on his deal with the Niners. He decided to become a martyr and negotiated to not guarantee his final year. Then he went full martyr during the last guaranteed year making it an easy decision for the Niners not negotiate a new deal. Kap got what he asked for, out of his deal. Smart business people such as NFL owners are do not want that type of shit associated with their brand nor in their locker room. As for Jackson, he is a good running back that can throw the ball well. What is the shelf life of a good running back? Nobody is giving that much guaranteed up for a running QB. And as a season ticket holder for the AZ Cardinals, I was disgusted when Murray's agent went public with his all caps demand. Then the Cards actually waited two months to work his deal and he ends up with more money because of the other deals QB's had signed. But Murray is a short, running QB that doesn't want to run. Can I take a quick break from the very legitimate debate between what we should or shouldn't do to just give a moment of praise to Dame for how he has handled and discussed this matter publicly over the past several years?

I completely understand his mindset: he wants to win here, and he wants to win now as he doesn't have that many years left. I can entirely appreciate that, and I'd hope that Blazers stars from here until eternity feel the same sense of loyalty, urgency, and competitiveness. And yet, it's amazing that he is able to constantly negotiate this issue within a media that is constantly seeking the contentious, juicy soundbite without ever: 1) threatening the franchise ("do it or else!"); 2) throwing teammates, coaches, or management under the bus; 3) constantly belittling the limitations of a small-market franchise in the PNW; 4) speaking with anger; he is nearly always calm and measured. If you watch the clip again, he even acknowledges the perspective of the Blazers organization: "if we can't find a way to get this done, the organization will also have a decision to make" (i.e. "I recognize that the organization may/should feel that it is in their best interest to trade me.").

Now whether or not we should go all-in to get Dame help now or trade Dame and initiate the reset (and it may entirely depend on the costs and targets of the "all-in" moves), I really want to make sure we appreciate how he has consistently handled this situation every damn time he is pressed on it.

I was giving you an example of the type of players needed in my eyes. I also used Embiid and Bridges in the next hypothetical scenario.

The problem with that is that Dame is worth more to a team going into a rebuild on the open market than any contender could give us... if you think that Dame makes the Nets a contender, they have a shitload of picks but they are on the east coast which might not be what Dame wants and I don't know if they are the type of contender that Dame would want.

Also like I just said in another post, this would be us settling for a five year plan and I think the odds of us going all in on a Dame led team winning a title in the next three years is are better than any five year plan ever is in the NBA.

Game changing plays to move on to the next round is pretty damn good. And that Denver series in '21, he was spectacular. He's a generational talent that rarely comes around. That in itself dictates that the team should do everything in their power to surround him with talent and a legit chance to contend.
