I've been on somewhat of a rant today and i'll bow out after this.

All of these local podcasters, the national media, the Fentress dude, they serve themselves for whatever is in it for them. They don't GAF about the Blazers.

We all loved Dame. We live in a different world since then.

Fentress works for the Oregonian and he’s trash.

Marang used to be a poster on here and someone decided to pay him money to listen to his arrogant rants. He’s on 1080 now.

He wasn't a poster here, he just wanted any clout he could get and argued with EVERYONE. It was very short lived thank god.

At least @BonesJones is doing it the right way and working his ass off and still has solid posts here. I respect Bones, fuck Marang.

Dusty Harrah is good but I refuse to listen while Marang is with him. His voice irritates me, his fake laugh is so easily seen through. And he offers nothing. But with his obnoxiousness, he will be a hot take guy somewhere nationally because he doesn't care about being right, he cares about being heard.

I don't believe the tough talk and we have no choice but to wait if some of the rookie guys are in the deal like Jaquez.

Did Clowney sign his rookie deal too?
The league keeps this really up to date:

So, no Clowney hasn't signed yet and neither has Whitehead. I think that is noteworthy.

Definitely intentional of Riley signing Jaquez as a deterrent to Portland.

Maybe..... but he couldn't play in summer league without a contract. And they started playing games yesterday.

Maybe they also wanted to show off how good Jovic and Jaquez are?

Has every 1st round pick signed a contract that's playing in summer league? Seems like not.

I think they probably have. There's the guys who aren't roster guys, and they don't necessarily sign contracts. But the rookies do, I think.

Here is the most recent Mike Richman podcast. PSA - he posts these on Spotify the night before.

I didn't think so but I could be wrong. A first round pick is a guaranteed contract so I'm not sure why they'd have to sign prior to summer league. I don't think it was always that way if it is that way.

Maybe. Maybe not. Joe is limiting his options if he's hellbent on pleasing Dame and sending him to Miami.
Why would Cronin want to please Dame now? Isn't Cronin not pleasing Dame the reason Dame wants out?

Andrew wiggins for Kevin Love was agreed upon weeks before his 30 day wait was over. Signing Jaquez isn't a deterrant. They can agree to him being included now then the trade happens when it can.

Dude, I've gone in circles with you. He asked Norm where he wanted to go. He asked CJ where he wanted to go. Now he's not going to ask Dame where he wants to go? The reports are that he's going to Miami.

Try to keep up.

Do you know what a deterrent is? It's not full-proof. It's just a barrier. The barrier is that if Joe really wants to complete a deal, he can't unless he leaves Jaquez out of the deal. Or he waits 30 days.

It's literally a deterrent. Doesn't mean there aren't ways around it.

I mean, if you want to call it a deterrant, it's a super shitty one that has precedence to get around. Enough that i doubt it was done with the intentions of being a deterrant.

Hmmmm... you sure? We are drafting their rights but I don't think we have to sign them to a contract.

The difference is he wanted Norm and CJ gone. He didn't care where they went as long as he got rid of their contracts. They wanted to go in a different direction. Should they have gotten an extra pick for Norm? Maybe but the goal was to get rid of them.

Their value was nowhere close to what Dame's is.

That's literally the definition of a deterrent. Shitty or not.

If you don't have to sign 1st round picks before they can play summer league, it's probably intentional, considering Riley had a good idea they were going to make a play for Dame and Portland was going to be asking for rebuilding pieces.
