I just think if you get anything close to fair value for Dame then you make the trade... if we get two quality players and four picks then we'll be good. You can argue that Jovic and Jaquez are quality players, especially for a team in a youth rebuild like ours.
Who says no? I think if Simmons will play PF then this would be the best team Dame has ever had. It's a bit of a gamble for NOLA but they're just giving up Zion, Daniels and CJ for Dame. I don't think that's a bad trade considering the risk we're taking on with Zion.

The Good is the enemy of The Best.I'm hoping that Cronin will still take a good deal from Miami if one presents itself. You're talking about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Something "kind of similar" to a no-trade clause? What the fuck is this? Either he has one or he doesn't. Plain and simple.
A vacation would be good, like an accounting problem you're stuck on, take a break come back to it and bing bango bongo, there it is.After Summer League, it is my sincere hope that the entire Blazers' FO goes on a long vacation. Just let Dame, Miami and the rest of the League stew.
Maybe the Blazers can finally land Greg Monroe.
Sour grape stew. After Summer League, it is my sincere hope that the entire Blazers' FO goes on a long vacation. Just let Dame, Miami and the rest of the League stew.
What Dame has left is his reputation, and it is slowly going down the toilet. My response: uhhhhh, no he doesn’t.
What do you mean "they can't"?They can’t….
The only move is either convincing OKC to take another asset to trade back the pick OR they just accept Miami’s 2026 and we get 2024, 2028 and 2030. If OKC keeps 2025 they can’t trade 2024 or 2026 because of the Stepian rule.
So Siakim didn't want to play with Dame and Cronin didn't try?

I really love that word Sheesh.so Cronin tried to trade sharpe for OG and failed.
then he tried to trade Scoot for Siakam and failed.
basically he fell ass backward into a dynamic backcourt of the future, and had he gotten his way, we’d have sacrificed those players for marginal upgrades to be a mid playoff team with dame.

I have a hard time believing Siakim would have hated to come to Portland and play with Dame, and also that Joe would have offered the #3 for him.
Scoot is the future. Also, I would send the message to Dame's camp, that until he expands his list to at least four teams (without tampering from his agent telling other teams he won't be happy), he can consider himself a Portland Trail Blazer. Dame wants out more than we want to trade him. All of these public pronouncements are just bluster.
We're not winning. This trade is everything to us. We have 15 players. He has one career. We're paying that salary slot regardless, so if he just stays home it's no skin off our nose.
Absolutely. Why is it hard to believe he just wanted to stay in Toronto?
I always see fans say "Can't believe X doesn't want to do Y" as if all NBA players are motivated by the same thing. End of the day they are just humans and humans can have different priorities in life.
I have to think that Siakam was under the impression that he could get a super-max contract out of Toronto. If he's traded, he's only eligible for the regular max. I'm guessing that Toronto has informed him that the super-max is not going to happen for him.I have a hard time believing Siakim would have hated to come to Portland and play with Dame, and also that Joe would have offered the #3 for him.
He probably wanted to stay for the Turkish population there. Why is it hard to believe he just wanted to stay in Toronto?

Something kind of similar is that this franchise would rather placate Dame by sending him to his preferred destination in turn screwing itself in the process.
